More Incomings Than Usual?

Don’t have any official stats, just a perception.

Went to my local AD today. They had an SD43 in the display case.

I’ve been on the “waitlist” for a Hulk since last October.

Still waiting impatiently 😊

I'm guessing you are in States, nothing here in the UK?

There seem to be a lot of Sub Dates arriving at the moment, particularly the LV. Could be an illusion. Hard to say.

I'd say quite a few incomings but I've not been on the forum long enough to gauge an actual comparison and it seems there are also a few more coming through in the UK.

Could also be that traffic on the internet is up because people have less to do.

'Incomings' are reported for <1% of production. You can't judge anything on this sample size.

I picked up my 116613LB a week or so ago from Pragnell as the AD said they had a delivery that day, do know how true that was but also saw someone trying on a TT Sub or SD43 same day.

I just don’t know what to make of it anymore. Article this weekend in the WSJ that a glut of rough diamonds, India’s cutting factories are closed, weddings postponed so jewelry business has tanked big time.

But Rolex watches, not like any jewelry supply/demand I have ever seen. Seems that for every Pepsi an AD gets, he could sell that unit to 50 people on his list, so there is still money out there. I just don’t understand it, Rolex has a hold on the market whether good times or a pandemic.

There is also some human nature going on here; What you can have you don’t want, what you cannot have, you want”.

Yes Pragnell Stratford upon Avon, highly recommend them only 3 stores but they treat you like a real person, ps i only emailed them twice then visited and got the Bluesy, no previous history and was not asked to make any other purchase or bundle buy.

Speak to Andrew. He’s based in Stratford Upon Avon.

I bought a GMT II from him in 2008. Friendly service.

As you say treat them mean to keep them keen, i think people have money as its not being spent on holidays, eating out etc, plus when you leave the store with a brand new Rolex you know it will hold its value whereas if you by a diamond ring other some watch brands for example it will devalue straight away.

The grays drive the market. A lot of the those that are delivered to the ADs are probably sold out the back door to the gray. Once that market tanks it’s over. Who knows when that’ll be though. As long as there’s someone out there buying a BLRO for 18k this is what we’ll have

There has definitely been seemingly numerous reports of incoming. Seemed like last year it was an endless drought. For me, I've been waiting for a long time for one that is rare enough, I'm afraid you have to be a celeb or something to get one..The JM 116508...Patiently waiting, but i'm nobody special so I'm hopeful but....

These are still just mass produced luxury watches and not a species in danger of going extinct

Yes. In the States, Tampa Bay area of Florida. Was surprised to see an SD43 in the case.

seems like every other thread is incoming. almost seems to contradict the unavailability saga.
then again, i'm sure demand sill far outweighs supply, as evidenced by grey pricing.

not sure about the current trend though as i haven't been following all that long.

I haven’t. I went up and spoke with Derrick, but ultimately bought my SD43 at Mayor’s last month.
