I wanted to see how it would fit if I removed an extra link, so my question is when you remove one of the links, do you need to use loctite on the threads when putting it back?
I have the blue Loctite, is this needed or too strong?

If you choose to use Loctite go with 221 or 222. You definately want a low-strength version as opposed to medium or higher. But as long as you replace the screw snugly you should be okay without any additional thread-lock.

I've always used it for peace of mind. Found loose threads quite a few times.

I did not use any when adjusting my IIc and it has been fine for 10 weeks. I check it every time I clean it and I have only had one screw loose (once) out of the three I played with.

you dont need loctite when removing a link. The locktite is only used when you are installing a new clasp.
