Reference 126622 - YM 40 Rhodium Dial General Sentiments

I think this is a beautiful watch and have an opportunity to add to my collection.

I love the watch personally and will get one, but just wanted to see other opinions on it as a SS casual piece.

I believe it’s highly underrated and don’t hear the same “hype” on it, but it is in a league with the Hulk or any Instagram popular piece.

Cheers!

I tried it on it just didn’t do anything for me. However, it’s a beautiful watch!

Love the YM 126622, and purchased a blue dial from AD, earlier this year.
The dial color is obviously a matter of personal preference.
This watch has become my favorite and really has to be seen and tried on to appreciate just how special it is.
Don’t let the fact that it not a hot model sway you, I prefer my YM above some of the so called hot models.
Good luck with your decision.

Am a fan of the YM; bought the older 16622 silver dial but changed the dial to the blue version. The rhodium is nice but think the blue version is nicer!

I love it. It's been on my radar for a couple of years now (amongst others), but I might just have to pull the trigger one of these days.

Wow, thanks for sharing. That blue dial is something special. What a great contrast with the platinum bezel!

I saw the Rhodium dial and the grey and blue minute hands were such a unique style you don’t see on many Rolex models. I really do love the YM 40 and surprised more collectors don’t have it on their radar... I sure do!

The 126622 has really lifted my collection and it’s a great sports watch. WR up to most needs and a beautifully lined case.

I think it's a better looking watch than a sub, it seems to just be the fear of bezel scratches that puts many people off.
I've owned the blue dial and do think it's more striking than the rhodium dial

I tried it on myself and I felt the dial to be a little flat and didn’t have enough effect to pop out like the cobalt blue dial does...

Most comfortable watch on a bracelet that I've owned. I prefer the blue dial though. Can't go wrong either way.

I own it. While the blue is a stunning dial, the rhodium seems to magnify the whole watch. The play with the platinum bezel is really beautiful. Its very comfortable as well. You will love it.

it has polished center link and case but it’s not a Daytona, it has rotating numbered bezel but it’s not a sub or GMT. for some reason it’s just not a very popular model. i think it works if you have a large collection and only occasionally wear it for a change, which is the case for me. i haven’t worn mine for a long time ...

I have the rhodium 40mm and love it. It doesn’t look it’s best in the AD with the lights etc, however looks really stunning in natural light as the bezel and shadows etc really show it off well. I also have the Sub 114060 which I also love, however every time I put the YM on it just feels really premium and special compared to the Sub. The myth around the bezel scratching easily is false, not a mark on mine after 9 months. However the PCLs scratch almost immediately in contact with anything. It also wears so well and really sparkles in the light

I do like it. A Beautiful piece without a doubt especially the rhodium dial. Just not desirable enough for me to add one. Nothing negative for me to say. Go for it..

TBH I'm a big fan of the Twin Tone Rose Gold and Chocolate dial in this watch.

If you saw that in person my gosh its a beauty.

Great to know, I actually wear my watches and scratching is something I try to avoid. But, the biggest criticism on the forums I found was exactly that... the platinum bezel is prone Knicks.

It is great watch and own one as well. The challenge with this reference is that it is priced higher than the GMT IIc and SubC. Furthermore, I am not sure where does it fit in the Rolex lineup. It has platinum bezel and PCL bracelet to add to my confusion. However, I love wearing it as it wears better than the SubC on my wrist.

Rolex marketing made a mistake calling it Yacht-Master. The name is so pretentious and distasteful. If I owned one and someone asked what it was called I would be embarrassed to utter the words Yacht Master out loud and would change the subject at all costs.

Shame really, as the rhodium is a knockout.

If someone asked what it was called they would likely already know about watches. For the other 99%, it’s just a Rolex.

I have both the Sub 116610 and the Rhodium Yacht Master 40. Bought the Sub first, and couldn't pass up the Yacht Master when I saw it in person. The dial looks amazing when the sun hits it. I also bought a black Rubber B to swap out on occasion.

3235 movement is nice too and overall it's an exquisite watch. Doesn't get the hype as some others, but has a big fan club on its own.

I like mine much more that the Subs I've owned. It's much more comfortable on the wrist and looks far nicer than the others. I also think it's the nicest of the YMs. I've been wearing mine this summer with a Horus strap which is the perfect aftermarket strap for the watch, imho.

Ive always liked the rhodium ym. Looks great in person. Definitely v diff from the more common subs and gmts. Not a fan of pcl in general, thats the only thing id change on this watch.
