What establishment, company or person treats you better than your AD?

I got to thinking of places I’d been more welcomed as a customer than my AD and I realized quite a few places. Open houses for >7figures, Lamborghini, Bentley, Mcclaren and Rolls dealers. They’ve all been acceptive of me and happy to oblige any questions, test drives, multiple showings and the like. Why is Rolex AD’s specifically Mayors so unfriendly?

I think ABrolex was being sarcastic in his response. At least that’s how I took it and laughed at the irony of it. Subtlety doesn’t always come through in print.

To just add to my response, if your AD isn’t doing it for you find a new one. They may be the only game in town, but there are plenty of other towns not far away.

In general, I can’t complain with how I get treated anywhere.

My wife on the other hand gets poorer service routinely.

Why do you think the Rolex AD blanks you ?

I have no idea. Possibly my general look and attitude but that didn’t bother the lambo dealership when I asked to take a Murceilago for a spin or countless other high end car dealerships for that matter.

The manager at “the collection” in coral gables gave me hand written directions to a great restaurant on the back of my invoice after I drove 3 of their cars (not gently). I am 36, made every cent I have through hard work and smart decisions and it may show in my attitude, body and clothing so maybe that’s why? whatever. Thread was intentioned for laughs about the craziest place you’ve been treated better than your ad. I realllyyy messed up in the title apparently.

I would think if you frequent the same AD and buy some high end pieces there, the service and access to in demand watches would improve.

Did you arrive in one of the Lamborghinis? That would certainly help them know you were a serious buyer and not just there for a flipping profit.

I’ve actually never bought anything from my AD. Mainly because the times I’ve visited I’ve been treated like a second class citizen. Mine is inside a mall so they had no idea what I drove there.

I think as a generalization, it boils down to how you GENUINELY treat the people who help you, more so than the money you spend with them. To those who answered that they get treated pretty well everywhere they go.....you're probably doing something right and it ain't just spending money.

I get that and I always am polite and well spoken anywhere I go. In my work I converse more with the guys doing the work than the guys that are in charge of them. It may not portray itself here but I’m extremely personable. So I don’t believe that was/is the problem. I am just enamored that I get better customer service from someone who lets me drive their 150k+ car and is happy to let me as opposed to my AD that made it seem they were doing me a favor to spend 40k on a root beer and then 10k on a ladies date just. There is zero customer service there. I appreciate the up sell and understand it but he’ll, at least make me feel welcome.

My local AD, Thunderbird, here in Vegas treats me very well.

Now the AD on the strip is a different story, I dress like a local and am not welcome apparently. (and was ignored)

I can go home and be ignored while talking about watches!

You seem like a nice fellow and I don't mean to be brash with this, but odds on they are acting like that towards you because you have become that guy...

"Time waster"....."tire kicker"....etc

The AD staff work off an ups system. It revolves between staff. When you walk in the store, you count as an "up" for the SA and they are assigned to you until you either buy something or leave, resetting the up.

So, when you go in the store and don't buy anything, you waste an up for the SA and they have to wait their turn again. You do this fairly frequently, they will remember you as "the guy" and want you to get out as your killing their up.

Now, I understand that is very controversial in that many TRF members feel that AD staff should not dislike tire kicking or professional visiting and embrace the interaction as an opportunity to please the Rolex aficionados whims, but in reality they pretty much hate it and that's going to show itself in short order if one keeps showing up and not buying anything..

Essentially a causality loop of sorts is occurring. You keep going back, not buying anything because you don't like how they treat you and they treat you that way because you don't buy anything...over and over and over.

This will continue until you either stumble into a new SA who doesn't have an opinion of you, you actually buy something or you stop going there.

I’ve visited my AD 3 times in 5 yrs. Tire kicking maybe, however prepared to purchase something I like if it’s in the case. EVERY single time I’ve felt unwelcome. So they don’t get my business. This wasn’t necessarily a thread about me but more so a thread asking a question of others that have been treated better (customer service wise) at places beyond their AD. It’s implied those places are selling items of a much higher value than a 8-50k watch. My gripe is I’m treated better at places that inherently should not be giving me better customer service. So what’s the problem with a Rolex AD?

I passed on lambo and kick myself daily. It’s gone up 50k from when I took her out for a spin. Allocated funds elsewhere and it’s just not feasible at the moment. Soon though hopefully.

What are they doing to mistreat you @ Mayors?

What would you like them to do for you that they are not doing ?

I do see this as being about you, however....If you want the watch and they have it, just buy it.

It's just a very simple transaction...which is why they don't feel the need to roll out the red carpet...

It's ultimately about the watch, right? I mean , unless they were punching you in the face upon arrival....just get the watch an get out of there...
