Watch box for Rolex (et al) collection

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I couldn't decide where it rightfully belongs... perhaps we need a general watch accessories sub-forum! I hope you will forgive me though, as over half my little collection is Rolex!

Following an incoming last week for the BLNO 🙂 , the small tray (pic attached) that that the watches sit on in the safe is too full and I get nervous sliding it out every time*. I've come to the realisation that there's ~£80k of watch on the tray and it's time to invest in storing them more luxuriously and safely.

I am restricted to 320mm wide (interior width of the safe), so likely an eight watch holder, although I'd have preferred ten to allow for collection growth. Following lots of searching on these fora, I've narrowed it down to the following options:

1) Rapport Heritage
2) Rapport Optic
3) Wolf Roadster
4) Carapaz Pouch
5) Hillwood Burl Wood
6) Something else?!

I'd be grateful if anybody could share if they have experience/views on the above options? Or perhaps there is a better option I'm missing? Please share your best watch box ideas! Thank you!

*I fully realise this is a #firstworldproblem!

I like these; I've got a couple of them. They're not particularly luxurious but they do the job particularly well!!!

I just picked up another wolf 8 watch box when a member pointed out there was a 70 percent off sale. The sale is over but it was a great deal and I’m very happy with it. Not sure how often these sales occur but if they are frequent it may be worth holding out. No experience with the other brands listed here.

I recently bought other product from Carapaz - 2 watch cases. The quality & finishing is really top-notch and I specifically like the slide and stand options.

I came to the same realization and got something I enjoy looking at, like my watches. The LV 8 case watch trunk is amazing, and if you buy it in Paris it’s about 30 percent cheaper. If you’d like to see a pic let me know.

The LV watch trunk does indeed look amazing. More than I'd want to spend but I could be stretched. The problem is its 2cm too big for the safe, and that can't be stretched! 🤦*♂️

Are you talking based on price or on physics? I don't see it with the divided slots and tight fit to the hard pillows both in the slots and the watches on the pillows. Certainly it's much better than the tray that was being used. Remember this is going in a safe. I guess if a wrist is particularly large than there would be play on the pillows.

I would prefer dividers that we’re the height or higher than the watches....I’m thinking of it during travel maybe it gets dropped on the ground or who knows....looks like they would bang each other if it was dropped.....

I have the 8 watch Wolf Roadster winder. It's a very nicely constructed presentation.

I have a cheap wolf heritage which looks similar to the roadster though that appears of nicer materials, I like the one I have and the glass top works well for me. Good luck

I have watch rolls for travel; these keep my watches in the house and aren't for travel. Generally speaking I don't take multiple watches when I travel. Just as the original question was for use in a safe. I'd not have any qualms about placing these boxes in a safe. I guess there is always the possibility of nuclear detonation that could knock over the safe.

I have a couple Wolfe Windsor watch cases I found in sale that I really like. I have been looking at Pelican cases, they look tough as nails and can be bought with the foam cut specifically for watches.

Have a friend who makes really nice watch rolls/cases/boxes in Turkey - you can see their page 'bosphorus leather' (ig)

I can help you out if you need as well

Expensive but worth it. I have their three watch roll and love it. I'm convinced their one of the best.

Each compartment has a padded bottom layer, protecting the only part of the watch that touches the case.

I had the same width restriction problem as you. No single box that would fit my collection would fit in the safe. In the end I bought two 8 slot boxes.
