Are date wheels commonly replaced during service? I saw a two-tone 14486 for sale that had a white date wheel instead of a gold-tone one.

Only if needed to be. You can pick up the correct gold date wheel relatively easily from trusted parts sellers on eBay and Instagram.

Great article! Do you know if it is a problem when the date wheel does not perfectly align centered within the window, like the 14486 pictured in that article? And do all references with seconds hack?
