My pen story
Greetings everyone I have never posted in this forum because... well, the most valuable pen I own is one we gave out in the booth at tradeshows; it says: “Sony” on it. Worth about ... oh.... $.11 But I do have a pen I wanted to share.
When I graduated from High school in nineteen seventy blah de blah... My grandmother, (who lived to be 100 and came over from the old country in 1912) asked my mother to buy me a nice gift and insisted on paying for it. My mother got me the pen in the pictures. It used to say: “Pierre Carin” on the side but that has long worn off. I still use this pen to sign important documents, like my last mortgage and a recent work contract. No, it’s not worth anything, it’s a piece of junk compared to the nice writing instruments you guys have displayed on here (very nice collections by the way! ) But, it has been a special pen to me for the last 40 years. Maybe for another 40! I’ll use it to sign my death certificate |

Great story Paul, definitely a keeper with a story behind it. Be careful, if you end up trying a fountain pen, you may head down a rabbit hole. They even have TRFs for pen people!

Great story!
I think your pen probably said “Pierre Cardin” on it. French designer brand. They’re still around, but not quite as common as they once were. |

I always liked the thought of owning nice pens - - - -
- - - - unfortunately my hand writing is chicken scratches at best, so nice pens are out for me.

The sentiment and story behind your pen makes it more valuable than any writing instrument you could buy for yourself. Here's to another 40 years of laying down ink with it

Thanks for the LOL this morning.
I have an old ... er, crap, the name escapes me, fountain pen that my father gave me. It was his from his school days, so it's like really old. It's one of the few things I still have that he actually gave me as a gift. It's old, dented and looks like crap. Priceless.
