ROC! Help?!

Hola all!

So, just got the 5711 white last week and it makes my 15202 white duplicative (in my mind anyway). So, the 15202 was sold yesterday to make way for a ROC.

I hit the Boutique pre-Covid but they had zero in stock. I did get to find out that a 44mm ROO is laughably big on me, so that's nice I suppose.

I am not opposed to getting an older disco'ed one, in fact, I quite like the vibe on some of the older ones tbh. That said, any ROC lovers here who have experienced a couple of generations of them? The 41mm 26320s are out for me, as I am a firm 38mm/39mm guy.

So, that leaves first iteration 25860s (39), 26300s (39), and the new 26315s in 38mm (I am quite fond of the rhodium dial). New version looks dressier to me, older versions seem a bit more sporty, but I'd love opinions from anyone who has owned one, or both, or is just a fan with any experience to share.

My eye is drawn to the 26300s in both reverse panda blue with orange hands, and the dark blue (dial and subs). All whites are out because of the aformentioned 5711. If I was made of money I'd have multiples, but in the the real world where money matters I am trying to have different looks within the collection. Open to ANY comments or guidance from the sages around these parts. 26300s are getting harder to find full set and in good shape, so not a huge consideration but something I have noticed.

41 is not a consideration for me. I do not like the way it wears. Thanks for the pick of the remaining watches. Appreciate it.

I do like the WG ice blue but could never get it at a Boutique and is not worth, to me, the crazy 6 figure price tag I feel certain resellers will put on it.

The 39mm had a wide bracelet than the 38mm so it wears bigger. The older ones with white hour markers gave it a more sporty and casual look. I love my 26315 but I have a smaller wrist size than yours. I would go for 39mm if I were you.

I’ve had a 25860 (dark blue) and now a 25960/26022 and love them. My wrist is too small for the 41mm versions and I like the spacing and proportions of the subdials and date window. I think the differences with the 26300s are minor (I’m not even sure I can think of one).

Here is a wrist shot from a 15202 to help. I LOVED the way the 15202 (had both dials) wore. I am thinking 39 as well, just wanted to know if I was missing anything going previous generation. Appreciate the advice.

Clearly I'm biased owning the grey 26315, I was thinking about the 25860/26300 as well but the bracelet (fewer removable links) combined with the single fold old style clasp made me go modern as I wasn't sure I could get a clean fit. Also, the dial is a bit more crisp.

That said, I love the proportions of the 39 with the slightly wider bracelet and the sporty vintage vibe of it.

Can't go wrong with either. I'd probably look for the the all dark blue dial 25860/26300; there are two blues, not a fan of the lighter of the two.

Not to keep harping but the panda 41mm Tanuki mentioned is very underrated and you should try to see one in person. Ive had many comments about it looking ordinary in photos but what a sharp looking RO in person.

In my mind, it’s the strongest RO chrono for the money. My wrist is also below 7” and it wears perfectly.

41mm is very veyr underated and it deserve a look in real life! i was initially skeptical too but in the end i went for it

No offense but on the 39mm the bezel looks chunky in proportion to the face. On the 41mm its more integrated.

I totally agree! Initially I was looking at the black, blue and even the rose gold ROC. My SA pointed me to the Panda and said of all the colors that would be the one he would choose. Funny how it was off my radar until he mentioned it and then that was the one I couldn’t stop thinking about. I put in an order the next day.

I have owned 2 of the 26300s (reverse panda and blue dial, orange hands) and they are superb watches but I always had an issue with the legibility, a la Rolex Daytona. I always wanted the 25860 because the white hands are much easier to read. The FP1185 movement worked flawlessly on both of mine.
I sold my 26300s to fund a 15202, a move I regret.
Like you, I have found the 41mm RO and ROC to be too large.

I personally found the 26315's too small, but I love, love, love that white dial with blue subdial version. If possible to get one of those, highly recommended. And I'm biased!

The 38mm is going to feel too small on your wrist due to the bracelet. If you like the size of your Jumbo then get the 39mm ROC. I had one and really liked it; only downside for me was the long single folding deployant.

Agree with this. The long deployant clasp was the main reason I sold my 39mm ROC for the 38mm

Your welcome! I had the same white dial Jumbo as you and I regret selling it. I have the 38mm ROC now and I really like it but the 39mm is the perfect size and it has the most balanced dial compared to the 38 and 41mm ROC.

I’d go for the first all blue in 39. I don’t like those orange highlights and feel it won’t age as well as the other. I love my 38 cream but that’s out for you and with a larger wrist 39 is probably best for you

The 39 ROC, both white and blue dials, are great. Looked hard at the time but landing one in good condition posed a challenge. Hope you’re able to find one in good condition, maybe even NOS. All the best!

My wrist is just under 7". i'm also 6'1 200lbs athletic build. I find that the 39mm 26300st suites me much better than my 41mm 26574st or probably any other 41mm AP for that matter. i'll most definitely be looking into acquiring more of these discontinued models as well as the discontinued 25860st as i find that the dials are much more interesting than current models. With that being said i'd go with the 26300st blue dial/orange hand. good luck!!!

FWIW, I think the 39mm has the best proportions aesthetically for a RO and is also sized perfectly for the chrono movement itself. On the 38mm, I do not like the narrow bracelet and the placement of the date window isn't centred like the 39mm. Of the 39mm models you are considering, I would prefer the 26300 over the 25860 due to the improved case construction, although obviously dial preference is also a major factor.
