38mm vs 41mm AP Chrono
It won't be for a while (have to save up the cash), but one of the watches I'd like to purchase is an AP RO Chrono and I found out just yesterday that there is a 38mm and 41mm version. I have a small wrist, but I own both a 39mm Rolex OP and 40mm Sub Date and I love the fit on both of them. Any suggestions on what I should go with for the RO Chrono?

Are you able to try them out in person?

One of the things I find with chronos is the legibility - I’ve a Daytona which is 40mm but in truth I’d rather it was bigger. In an ideal world 42mm. I tried on a 38mm AP chrono and found it too small, too much going on in the dial for me. I also tried the 41mm and wow I thought it looked amazing.
I guess though depends on how big your wrists are and maybe your eyesight :-) |

As above, definitely find somewhere to try before you buy, since you still have time to save up the cash too.

Find a gray dealer near by so you can get a feel for sizing.
Don’t buy without trying especially for this watch. |

We all have our reasons for choosing what we did but it's very personal, so you have to find what appeals to you. I have a 6.75in wrist and the 41mm fits fine on me. I wasn't able to try on the 38mm since I don't have a boutique anywhere near me. Check this out for some recent discussion. This is a common question so use the search feature on the forum and you will find a lot more info. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=767936 |

Agree with trying them on. It took me MANY APs to find the right one for me (38mm chronograph). Thankfully, the ever increasing market value of these prevented me from taking a bath but it would've been an expensive exercise otherwise. Don't settle.

6 digit (114060) and I haven't actually measured my wrist, but I'll do that!

Definitely try each on, but I bet the 38 will be better for you. AP wears big.

I have 6.5" wrists and the 41mm is too big. Wears larger than a 41mm IMO. I had a 15400 and sold it for a 15450. I did try on the 38mm Chrono when I was in NYC last year and loved it. Perfect fit

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. Luckily, the boutique right by me had a 38 and 41 to try on. I'm leaning towards the 38mm (26315st 01 dial) as it fits like my GMT at 40mm. Like everyone else said, it is best to try them both on.
If you do go the 38mm route you might need to add a 1.5 link or a whole link. My wrists are right under 7 inches and the 38mm was tight for me. 38mm is white dial. |

I just traded my 41 for a 38 and I love it. My taste has been moving to smaller watches though.

Watch has so much wrist presence and wears much larger I went with the 38mm and I have a 7.5" wrist. GL

I don't like APs wearing small on me, feels wrong on such a dynamic sporty design, on Pateks I mind far less, seems more approrpriate.

I agree. I have a 6.5” wrist and wear a 41mm and it’s perfect for a chrono I think you can wear it a little larger. If it’s not a chrono and you want to wear it more towards a dress watch then going smaller is the way. |

Do they have these at the AP boutiques? I have been thinking about doing the 38mm...I have a 6.5 inch wrist and my sub and 42mm speedy fit very well. I tried the 42mm ROO a while back and it was way too big....wore like my 44mm Panerai.

Lets be honest here. The 38mm was originally a womens model
