Diver Trade Question

I understand that this is the AP sub-forum so the answers are probably going to be a little biased but it's on a Rolex forum so maybe you guys have more insight than most.

I'm thinking about trading my Hulk for an AP diver. I'd go with the 15703 because I prefer the wet dial. Not as interested in adding - I need to probable slim down my collection moving forward. Stuff just isn't getting worn as much (particularly since the VC showed up).

The Hulk is a special watch and I really do like it but the insane price it's commanding has me thinking about jumping up to another HH piece. I recently moved a stainless Daytona for my Overseas and have no regrets about that move. How those two watches are comparable in value evades me.

If anyone has both the LV and the AP Diver and could provide insight that would be great.

Thanks in advance. Am I nuts or does this seem reasonable?

Go for it. The AP diver leagues above the LV. Not even close.

I have a VC as well as a Sub but wondering the depth rating on the AP Diver?

I have a SubC LN, and DSSD D-blue, and GMTc.

My AP Diver is a much nicer watch--much better finishing, more interesting dial (except perhaps the D-Blue), much nicer movement, etc.

If you were happy about the Daytona -> VC move, I think you'll be satisfied with Hulk -> APD.

If you use the rotating bezel on the Hulk a lot, though, be aware the APD bezel isn't as convenient to use.

I think you'll be happy with the AP RO Diver. The watch is beautifully made and you will enjoy wearing it. Plus you'll have 2 out of 3 of the Holy Trinity in your collection.

The AP RO Diver comes standard on a rubber strap but is more impressive on a stainless steel bracelet.

Diver Trade Question

If you felt the VC was miles better in terms of quality than the Daytona for same market price, then you will feel the same for the AP over the LV.

I appreciate all of the answers!

One more followup question. Any insight on how the AP wears compared to say a Tudor Pelagos, Sky-Dweller or 42mm Explorer II? I'm guessing slightly larger? Those mentioned watches all fit me well - 7.5" flat wrist. I appreciate the help in advance. Thinking the LV may be on the way out while the market is still hot.

I have the LV, LHD, Explorer 2 (polar) and the AP diver (clear case back). AP wears much larger due the the case and lug 2 lug measurements. Rubber Strap is stiffer than pelagos. Still wears comfortably and my daily wearer.

Ap diver on the steel bracelet is as good as it gets for a diver IMO . Cant compare a rolex to ap there not even in the same league

I think the bracelet looks great on that watch. How big is your wrist?

I think that would be a good trade and if you are not wearing the LV take your profits and move to something that will get more wrist time.

That’s a great choice, you won’t be disappointed. I’m quite keen to add another Diver.

This is the exact configuration I'm hoping to be looking for soon (can't quite make it happen yet). Love the lume, display caseback, and that fact that you can have it on the stainless steel bracelet. Super cool watch and both of yours look great!

OP, can't wait to see yours when it arrives!

I would sell some of your other Rolexes first, LVc should be a keeper.

Figured I owed y’all a wrist shot. Thanks again for everyone’s advice. The Hulk ended up staying and other watches moved on.

I can’t post the image for some reason
