Rolex sightings on the NYC Subway!

I was going to school this morning with my dad on the 7 train. I was riding the subway when a lady walks onto the train with a Rolex Daytona with a white face! It looked really nice, and not too big on her wrist. So when I get off the train, I tell my dad "that lady is wearing a Daytona!" Then a young guy comes up, stops near me and hes wearing a Daytona with a black face! WoW! I have to admit, the daytona looked better on the lady.

What kind of Rolexes have you spotted lately?

I was at the Red Sox vs. Yankees game on Saturday, I saw so many Rolex's I had to start counting, just in my section alone at least 12, mostly Sub's a few DJ including a ladies DJ, and one daytona. We went to Morton's after the Sox victory to get a steak and I saw another 4, but you always see Rolex where ever they sell beef

I was getting a coffee on Sunday at the local mall, and a couple were sitting reading the papers in the coffee shop, with matching mens/ladies TT Datejusts on jubilee bracelets. Very eye catching, and definately made them look like a couple

Last Aug, after a Yankees-Sox game I came a bunch of Submariners on the Subway. A few 5513's and a great looking 1680. New York Subway was the last place I'd consider striking up a conversation with another WIS.

Was at the St Paddy's day parade this year in Kansas City Mo and a guy was standing next to me with a 18K DD also. Then I ran in to him at a pub down the street!

I see lots of Rolex here in NYC, but the Sub is by far the most common - I bet I see five to one against all the other models.

I was just in Playa Del Carmen last week and saw the water sports guy on the beach wearing a SS Sub. I didn't know they did that well selling jet ski and para sail rides. Also, saw 1 guy wearing a TT sub or on the beach and another at the pool with that same watch. I wore my DSSD on the beach every day. On the flight home, a guy on my plane was wearing a SS DJ. Funny how you notice a Rolex from a mile away but most other watches are harder to recognize.

I was at my law school advisory board meeting this past Saturday. Nothing but Rolex (mostly YG DDs and TT DJs) and Cartier Santos' on the wrists. Even my wife (who attended the meeting with me) commented on the number of expensive watches she saw there.

I've seen plenty of Sub Dates, when I ride the subway during rush hour, the majority of them were wall street suits. I'm not gonna lie, I wouldn't be comfortable showing my Rolex in the subway. This other day, this heavy set dude (who looked like he could be a nightclub bouncer) kept pestering me to purchase him a metro card (Somehow I have "freeloaders please talk to me" tattooed across my forehead), after he saw me buy one at the machine. A police officer walked by and he went in the other direction. The only time I've ever saw someone wearing an SS Daytona was last summer on my annual trip to St. Martin. This guy had the SS Black Face Daytona, in the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, he was talking on his cellphone, and I instantly recognized it.

Went to fundraiser the other night. Saw two tt subs, ss sub, explorer ii, op "harley davidson" dial, tt dj, and some others. Was surprised to see a second ss daytona in my small arkansas town. This one had a black face. Still see many more tags.

On opening day at the track this year a friend of mine and I counted over 50 Rolex watches in under 8 hours. I think the exact number was 56.
But this is SoCal, either you were a Timex a Rolex or a Panerai.

No rolex sightings in Iowa. Kinda feels like I'm the only one. I only saw a panerai watch once, the guy was interviewing me for an internship in Chicago.

That was my initial reaction. But of course all I know of NYC is what I see on 70s crime dramas.

Last Sunday at Dim Sum I was awash in TT Datejusts. Then at Costco I saw a TT Subbie.

Your post just brought back a lot of memories when I rode the 7 train when I was 14 years old going to high school in Manhattan from Flushing. I think that was the last Ice Age from your perspective (the late 70's from mine).

At the time, I was looking at the ladies, not their watches.
