Rolex price increase

I heard we should expect another price increase in January

I am wondering if others have heard the same. My AD has been bang on everytime. I am not suggesting head office has said this but the AD definately thinks another one is coming.

They literally just had one in September. In fact, the ink hasn't even dried yet on the new price sheets. That would be bad optics during a pandemic.

They had new models in sept, and yes those new models cost more. The January usually is across the board(most times).

It was still an increase across the board, i.e. every model, and I stand by my original statement that it would be bad optics during a global pandemic with countries getting pounded again with cases.

Most likely true.

Going off their selling prices ALL models could increase 10% and still be OK.

most likely to happen. as long as people are willing to pay, Rolex or grey market wouldn't care. Look at the prices in grey market. genuine buyers just wait for phone call from AD and grey market gets it.

I wish they'd raise prices to the point it stops speculative buyers and supply and demand at the AD level balances out... yes I know I'm dreaming...

There was no across the board price increase in the US in September. Didn’t happen.

The last price increase across all models was January 2020.

The price increases in Sept were only on the new models announced.

OK I stand corrected. My bad. I thought they had.

My OP went up from $5,100 to $5,600 and they discontinued my dial literally 10 days after I bought it. I was in the process of trying to find the blue 3-6-9 Explorer dial at ADs in August but couldn't, so I went preowned. Then they discontinued the dial and raised the price for all of them.

We went at least 5 years in the U.K. without any price rises, then in the last few years they hand them out like sweets

One thing's for sure there will always be price rises but as to when, well only Rolex knows that.

We had one in the EU in Jan 2020 and that was 4 years after the previous one in Jan 2016. I'd be surprised if they raise prices again in 2021, especially in the context of Swiss watches exports plummeting worldwide (except in China) in 2020.

Apart from the UK, which was in the EU at that time and underwent an additional price adjustment when our currency tanked. If UK prices go up in January it will be the third rise in three years. Which seems about right for luxury goods. Nothing optically bad about asking rich people to either pay more or move on.

Every model? I’m pretty sure my Explorer 39mm did not have a price increase in September. I am in the UK if that makes a difference?

Yes but that's very specific to the UK and the weakening of its currency against the Swiss franc.

Pandemic or no pandemic if Rolex wants to raise prices in January 2021 then it will, there is enough money floating around in the world to sustain a rise.

All that will happen is that those with the money to purchase a luxury watch will just have to spend a bit more.

Rolex raises their prices once a year why does everybody always act so surprised.
And the gray market doubles it. What else is new.

From what I thought, the increases this fall were only on new models released? I know the no-date sub went up 600.00 I believe from 7500.00 to 8100.00.
