Is it a good deal should I take the offer or pass??

Hello guys, I have been offered by my AD a seadweller 43mm for a USD 14,100. I tried the watch and like it. But is this a good deal not to pass? 🤔🤔

If you want it I don't see why it's not a good deal?

If there's one thing I learned though, never buy a watch if you aren't sure. In particular if it costs $14k and you have to ask people online if you should do it :-)

The Seadweller 43 mm at my AD is $ USD 11,700.
So being offered one at USD $ 14,100 just seems too high by $ 2400.00...so I would pass.

If you truly want it get it.

If not, let someone else buy and enjoy it

Did that with a Panerai Bronzo. Great timepiece and hard to get, yet not something i'd wear due to small wrist for 44mm max so let someone else get it.

Is it new or pre-owned? "Offer" seems to be where (grey) dealer asking prices are right now.

The green Kool Aid is flowing today. No more than $13,000 ALL IN for BRAND NEW — including all taxes.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $12,500 for BRAND NEW... but I don't know what the situation is like in Egypt.

Clearly iam asking regarding the price if its in bar with the worldwide market as the forum here have members from around the world and not asking if people like it or not. thats why iam taking opinions

Seems a little high but I don't know the additional fees in your part of the world. If its pre owned, I'd pass. If its MSRP and you love it, get it.

Its a good deal for the AD considering the Retail Price is $11,700...not so good for you!!

Soryr, I'm not familiar with the prices for these. Since you said it was an Authorized Dealer I could only assume that it would be sold to you at list price?

AD's definitely aren't allowed to add cream on top.

I wouldn't recommend buying just to flip.. because, well... I'd be mad if I wanted that watch from the same AD and someone just bought to put up for sale

SS SD 43mm is $11.7k list before taxes. You shouldn't pay more than that from am AD. Gray dealer is a different story and you can check the Classifieds section of this forum or other websites selling pre-owned watches for comparables.

Retail price is irrelevant unless the Op thinks he will have an opportunity to buy it for retail price. The retail price is not an objective benchmark of what a Rolex is worth -- these are luxury goods, priced on factors that have very little to do with any objective characteristic of the product.

That is a reasonable street price for the watch. If you won't be buying it at retail price any time soon, then the street price is the only thing that matters in this decision. Is the watch worth it to you at a fair street price?

Don't pay over Rolex's listed price at an AD. I believe that buying a Rolex above list price fuels the Gray Market no matter where it's purchased.

I bought mine in the forum here for $12,250 one year ago. It sat for some time with price reductions leading me to believe it's not that popular probably due to its size.

I wouldn't pay $14.1K for it. When you realize it's too big for you, you will have to find a bigger fool to sell it to

I'd buy a grey 126610 sub and save the (small) cash.

If you're asking if a watch is a good buy then no. This sounds like buyer's remorse just waiting to happen.

Since you're hesitating you should not buy it. The retail price is 14k. Your AD cannot raise the price on retail. They would loose their AD license with Rolex.

A good deal is in the eye of the beholder... Price is in line w the secondary market. If it's stickered and you want it then go for it and don't look back!

I believe Egypt has a VAT tax on luxury goods, so that maybe the price difference.

Sea Dweller 43mm: MSRP $11700

It's very good watch, if you like it, you should buy it from the Boutique/AD.

You might have to wait for 1-3 month, but it isn't that hard to get.

Relax chief and be careful throwing around insults. You’re the one who originally posted that an AD is offering a sea dweller for $14k and asked the forum if that’s a good deal. But u just indicated that you’re aware that list is $11k and you checked all prices. So then why are you asking “dummy”?

No need for insults here. Forum is a place of watch collectors from all around the world with different sales taxes.

OP, what is the cost before VAT in Egypt? Gulf states had 5% if I am not mistaken.

it's so hard to say isn't it ? i have advised clients to not overpay for a house by 25% 10 years ago, which was good advice at the time, even though now those homes have doubled in price.

this is why people say pay what you are comfortable paying. me personally
? i always want a good deal. truly, for better or for worse, i want a good fuckin deal. ok with a fair price, but not overpaying, ever.
