Woke up this morning to a nice surprise...but what is it?

Completely out of the BLUE I received an email from my AD this morning asking if I was "always" interested in purchasing the JC DSSD. I wasn't exactly sure what she meant, whether she was asking if I am ready to buy today or if I'm interested in other pieces, so I answered YES on both counts.
I should say I have only met with her once, back in September, and we had a lovely chat about watches. I asked if they had a Cameron available and she brought one out that was already promised to someone else, but I could try it on and absolutely fell in love. Shops closed for about 6 weeks here in Belgium but I wrote her an email last week just to see if maybe, possibly they had received anything. She said no, it was unlikely until after the first of the year. No worries, I'm not in a rush.

Then this morning BOOM, the email hit. She's not even working today (so I can't actually get the watch), but I ran down to the store to try it on and I am STILL in love with it! It's a beast, but so comfortable on the wrist and I think it complements my DaytonaC very nicely, even better than my former SD43 (which was stolen this summer).

Just goes to show, some ADs are still good partners and if you put in the time, you get the reward. I wish I could have walked out of the store with it today, but I just need to wait until Monday when she is back at work and it's mine. She even said their policy is to give customers 7 days to decide whether to purchase...which feels very generous in this day and age of "you have to be here within the next 20 minutes or I'm selling to someone else." The only caveat is that I have to promise not to flip it, which is no problem as I plan on wearing the hell out of this thing!

why couldnt you leave with it today? is it just a courtesy to finalize the deal with your woman? surely they could have rang this up for her and made sure she gets the comission without being present today, and then you could return later to thank her etc..

either way...thats a beautiful reference, congratulations !!!

yeah, i'm not really sure on this either. you have to call ahead to make an appointment these days, so i called for today to check it out and made another one on monday when she's back in the office. unclear to me why i couldn't leave with it today, i assumed they just want the salesperson to be there to finalize the sale. i'm just happy i got the call!

You will love it. I found my DSSD JC has a technical diving swagger to it that stands out from all other divers.

It’s only a few more days until you can officially collect, so I wouldn’t sweat the additional time. I always collect my purchases from my usual sales associate or wait till they are in.

This watch is more a true diver watch than the Submariner. There. I said it. I would consider taking this one underwater. Congratulations on such a fantastic Rolex.

Congrats. I love mine. It wears great for a big watch. I find myself staring at the dial a lot too.

I'm sure you could have applied a little pressure to take it home with you today if you wanted to save yourself another trip. If you don't mind that's different...

Generally, I think most folks are starting to treat ADs like Royalty at times - worse part is some of the SAs at these ADs are starting to act that way.

Congratulations on this great timepiece!

I have only 6.5" wrist, I fell in love with the gorgeous blue dial so I bought it right away. I love it very much.
