Love the sea dweller! Would like to ad the SD4k some day but not at these prices. Which means it’ll never happen

Picture of my own working tool 16600 SD it spent well over 600 hours underwater, and was used and sometimes abused in its hard live but serviced regular, my favourite all time Rolex watch.

Fantastic piece and well utilised as intended as a tool watch

So much awesome, learn kids, this is cool, the experience you can never buy, not keeping stickers on, talking about prices, complaining about scratches and and perpetually flipping.

Great reference, I only slightly prefer the 16610 due to the dial being larger.

The dial on the SD is 1mm smaller than the sub,and the bezel on SD is 1mm wider than the sub but both 40mm. The sub date weighs 135 grams and 13mm case depth, the SD 147 grams and 14.65mm case depth not a huge difference and myself fine no difference when on wrist .

It's been polished 3 time by different ADs worldwide last one in Singapore quite a few years ago now.But since retired from diving doesn't get so beat up now as when used as a working tool.

Judging by the top right lug, a lot. Unless it’s the angle. I’m glad it’s been used as intended. I can’t dive so none of mine will ever see that kind of action

It's the angle of the picture all lugs are the same.

I've had my SD43 for about 1 1/2 months and have worn it everyday with the exception of this past week when I had to go out of town and there was a possibility it could get scratched up so I took a another watch. It's silly to say, but I missed it on my wrist and couldn't wait to put it back on yesterday.

After setting the time and date on it, the world felt right once again.

Absolutely love it. Thing about the SD43 - it is the ultimate sleeper that from a distance looks like a normal Submariner Date, but the owner knows it can do 4x more.

Kind of like how you may look like any other person, but you know you bring hyper-capability to the mix.

Like how Clark Kent looks like your average mild-mannered journalist but he knows if he wanted to he can leap out a window and fly to the moon!

I wish I had some pictures of my SD after 5 years of hard use as a working tool underwater scratched by everyday use.But after service good as new only to get scratched again in normal wearing use.

OP, looks like the DS wears for you like the Sub wears for me, mostly in terms of case thickness. So if you can pull it off, why not? Wish I had that extra range of flexibility to work with.

I thought I had the collection I wanted at one time, but since I added this to my collection it changed my whole world.
My other watches don’t get any wrist time at all.

Oh yea I wear this one every other day. Cheers!
Big SD Fan now.
