Black mother of Pearl diamond dot daytona

Hello,

This dial seems to be really rare but I don't see much being discussed on you tube like other models.
I'm looking for something different but not sure as I don't see much about it anywhere.

Does anyone have any views ?

Thanks

There is not much love on TRF for Mother of Pearl dials, but they are natural, unique, beautiful and change colour if different lighting.

I have a DJ41 with white MOP and diamond markers, I love it.

I guess MoP and diamonds doesn't appeal to most people, yet meteorite seems to. I can't logically explain some of my favorites and don't care to. Glad you enjoy your MoP.

I think it’s a cool look and a bit under appreciated. Have a 116509 with this dial on order w/ my ad.

That’s it Steve, there is no need to explain or justify, it just looks right to the individual.

As I said, not much love on here for MOP. But totally unique and so underrated, images don’t do it justice.

Ask yourself this do you buy a watch because its being like you state being perceived as rare or not discussed on Youtube. Or do you buy the watch with the dial you want to own and wear, then you will have the right answer.

I love MoP dials. I don't think the lack of love for them is because of the dial but because they only come with diamond markers and no batons option.

Beautiful dial, but I much preferred the old settings in Rolex diamond dials. The large surrounds always make me think aftermarket.

One of the calls of the Platona is the dial which is almost MOP like without actually being made from shellfish!!! Nice dial and watch!!!

Black MOP I love I’ve seen some fantastic ones on Daytona’s. Other colour MOP not so much.

Meteorite as mentioned above is a whole different league.

I think these dials are mainly worn by women, who are not as active on watch forums as men. There are certainly men who wear them, and women who are active on watch forums and make watch content on YouTube, but it’s not as common. Plus, it’s an expensive watch, so there is less discussion.

IMHO, MOP is under-appreciated in the watch community. It's a really neat material and, much like meteorite, it makes each watch quite unique.

I saw one of SA at Rolex boutique wear TT Daytona with black MOP and diamond hour markers, it such a gorgeous timepiece. That model was discontinued now.

No, they're some sort of gold plating, which gives this unique pattern.

I will post some high quality pics when I figure out how

Yes, generally MOP is a girl's thing (not only in watches)
