Does this vintage Arabic numeral DJ dial have a name?
Hello, fellow Rolex enthusiasts. I’ve seen a few examples online of this 1980s Datejust dial: it has almost Deco-style applied Arabic numerals, with a minute track inside of the numbers, and a painted Rolex crown. Stick-style DJ dials of this era have an applied crown at the 12 o’clock spot. Even the Roman numeral DJ dials of that era (and even now) have a crown instead of a XII. Many modern DJ with Arabic numerals have the crown instead of a 12.
I don’t think it’s a bullseye dial, but it is interesting to a see the minute track inside the numbers and that particular Deco-style/font of applied Arabic numbers (with the number 12 instead of a crown). I’ve seen these dials in champagne, white, and blue on Chrono24, eBay etc. Does this dial style have a name? https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/datej...id18734537.htm Thanks. |
