Swapping oysterflex to leather/gator strap

Looking to buy YG ceramic Daytona and would like to have the option of alligator band. Interestingly, I was at AD 5 years ago buying my wife a 178341 and had a 116515 on my wrist and backed out. Still kicking myself as had 0% interest for 4 years offered! I really like the formal look of the alligator strap. I know the model changed with the addition of the oysterflex and wondered if I can use a skin/leather strap on 116518 LN? Thanks for your input

I had the chocolate dial Daytona on the alligator strap and asked when the Oysterflex variants came out if it was possible to swop , My AD said they're not interchangeable

I have been told the same. Can after market straps be used and still use the Rolex deployment latch? If so, any experience with specific brands?

I asked about this at RSC it can be done , I think it meant full service purchase a pair of oyster flex straps but the killer for me was you require a new clasp also I wanted to go from leather to rubber , but the same rules will apply
