Sticker Variation

Has anyone ever seen a Rolex with a sticker on the side such as this:

I'm used to seeing the little barcode printed directly onto the stickers protecting the case, not onto a sticker stuck on to that. Is there any significance to it?

My new IIc came with that sticker. Don't know any significance though.

Reckon that they are Code One or Data Matrix 3d barcodes. Give it a google.

No, I have not sen one like that..

Usually they are clear.. They are a small sticker that size, but they are stuck on the larger clear side protective sticker giving the illusion that they are directly on the larger one..

I wonder if they are doing it on a white background so people can see them easier as a sticker to be removed....

...........or perhaps that one is not genuine.........

Here is how I have seen them.... completely clear.

Tools, it came off of a GMT-IIc. Do they even make counterfeit movements that act like the real ones do (jump hour hand, no quickset, GMT, etc)?

All new (M serial and beyond) Rolexes come with this sticker.

This barcode provides a heap of information to the AD.

Funny thing with the printing is that it's unstable. Give it a slight rub with your finger and the ink will come off.

I took my sticker off and stuck it on to the user manual.

Nothing to worry about especially if you know that the watch came from an AD. If it's from a watch that someone is selling at a market stall, then that's something else ...

It's a QR (Quick Response) code used by Rolex for inventory control and tracking.
