New AD Opening in Orange County, CA

I was at South Coast Plaza today and saw that a new AP AD is coming. I’m getting back into the hobby after obsessively collecting guitars for 10 years and can’t wait to add a RO to my collection. South Coast has become a great watch destination. Rolex, JLC, VC, IWC, Pan, Cartier, Omega, PP and Lange are already there, along with Tourneau. AP completes the list.

The only AP AD I’ve been to was in Paris and they only had PM and less desirable models. What kind of hoops do you need to jump through to get a SS RO from an AD?

Edit: I just saw the Vegas thread. Seems hopeless. Why even bother opening a new AD.

There's no point in opening another AD or Boutique until AP increases production. It's silly, otherwise.

If I managed another boutique, I'd be upset if AP opened yet another. Means even less allocations for me.

That’s awesome news. Once traditional jewelers was dropped by AP I hated having to deal with the traffic up to LA to visit the boutique.

I said AD, but based on the signage, it’s probably a boutique. I don’t know the AP retail model but I know the PP and stand alone Rolex Boutiques are both Tourneau. I think is said August. I’ll be there later today and will post a pic.

I haven’t visited the LA store. I can’t stomach that drive unless it’s for work and I have no choice. Any idea why Traditional was dropped? Traditional Jewelers is now called Hyde Park. I can’t speak highly enough of them. They’re really fantastic.

Visit the A. Lange boutique next time you’re in town. My goodness. Some of their piece have to be seen in person to be appreciated. It’s mind blowing.

It’s a boutique.

PRINCIPAL MISSION

Develop business strategies to raise the Boutique’s customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability. Responsible for the boutique's overall day-to-day operations. Accountable for providing best customer experience, for pre and post selling of the products of the boutiques, for brand and product promotion and for making productive contribution by organizing, assigning and executing work to meet overall boutique objectives.

It was part of APs strategy to cut dealer margin and eventually pull away from ADs to go the boutique model. I loved traditional jewelers. Used to go all the time before they changed locations to the other side of the mall and changed names. Sure it’s still awesome but don’t get to fashion island all that much anymore.

Got it. They changed their name and location but show up as Traditional Jewelers on my bank statements.

Is this an AD or a Boutique?

I would be very surprised if it was an AD since AP's sales strategy shift from a few years back is to eventually go Boutique-exclusive, like Richard Mille.

Opening day odds as a walk-in for a 15500ST OTB ?

South Coast in Costa Mesa is in the top 10 highest grossing malls in the USA. At times #1. Makes sense to have a boutique there along with A Lange & Sohne and Vacheron Constantin.

Some lucky folks here managed to score pieces at the Boston boutique opening. Time to line up the night before....

Since you bought a code chrono recently, I’d push for a steel jumbo.

I know, right? Seems pointless, what are they going to carry? Either they won't have any inventory or you'll have to be in line 48 hours in advance like the old days of iPhone introductions. Unless, of course, they have a VIP opening party in which case everything will be sold before the store opens on the first day.

I don’t think they let people camp out over night inside an indoor mall.

I hope they have better attitudes than half of the people at the Beverly Hills boutique.

Maybe AP will bump off a couple of more ADs to have more inventory for the new boutique.
