Hardest PM Rolexes to get at a dealer
Wondering what you all think are the hardest PM rolexes to source from a dealer (excluding exotic/jeweled pieces).
My guess would be 1) Platona 2) YG Daytona green dial 3) WG GMT Meteorite 4) RG Skydweller 5) WG Sub |

I’d put the RG DD40 w/ olive as #4 and move the others down one spot.
It’s crazy to think 1.5 years ago the PM SkyDs would just sit in the case. |

Why? LOL
Stop chasing the hype and perceived shortage and just buy what you like. Especially at precious metal prices |

Really? My AD made it seem like this one was fairly easy compared to the YG green dial.

Hardest PM Rolexes to get at a dealer
Oops! I read that as John Player Special (aka Newman dial). My bad — it’s late here

Have to agree but many of todays Rolex owners are driven by the hype, just to wear the hype, and not the watch.

I am hearing the new Meteorite Daytonas will be very tough to come by as well once they ship.

To think these Daytonas are hard to get and when you go on chrono24 there is over 900+ 2021 models be it different variations - far from rare IMO

No question the rose gold Rainbow Daytona 116595RBOW. I managed to get 1 of only 6 that arrived in the UK last year.

I’m not ashamed to say I’m partially motivated by the hype/prestige associated with some of the watches on the list, not to mention the thought of being able to buy a watch well below its actual market value. If this means I’m “buying it for the wrong reason,” so be it. It’s a watch, and I’m human.
Appreciate the responses. Forgot about the Olive DD40. |

My AD offered me the green dial YG Daytona he had in the back. Not my cup of tea. Waiting on a Platinum Daytona, which he told me was much harder to acquire.

While we are on the topic, I have recently had an itch for a 126655 Rose Gold YM on OF any of y’all have a thought on how difficult or not so difficult that should be?

I still get a kick out of your thread and how came back shutting down the naysayers with proof. That was a good thread. The 126655 is still obtainable with a relatively short wait. Last year it would be almost available instantly, if not, already in the case. It’s selling for a small premium on the secondary market now, which is long overdue imo. I bought mine in Jan 2020 and think it’s an incredible watch especially w/ the Glidelock. Perfect for the summer season! I imagine as more time progresses the more difficult this reference will be to obtain like all other models. |

Where do you guys think the 2021 meteorite dial daytonas will slot in on both OF and full bracelet?
I've asked my dealer for one... he didn't scoff, but I don't know if I'm being tagged along... |

It will be just as difficult as the GMT meteorite I reckon. My AD also confirmed the same when I expressed interested for the RG meteorite on full bracelet.

No one knows or even gives a sh!# about the actual watch or movement inside but only how the perception of “rare” a particular model is. |
