3136 caliber?

Is the 3136 caliber a ghost? Does it exist?

If it does exist, is this the caliber in the Datejust II's?

All I could find on the Rolex website was the following exerpt from their 2009 press release kit:

"The movement
The Datejust II is equipped with a calibre entirely designed and manufactured by Rolex.
It features a Parachrom hairspring, highly resistant to shocks and magnetic fields, as well
as new Paraflex shock absorbers, which ensure its superlative chronometric precision
and remarkable reliability. The movement is chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official
Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and has a power reserve of 48 hours"

You will find a 3136 in the DSSD.

Basically its still the 3135 with Paracrome spring and instead of the Kiff system there own Paraflex shock system and a slightly larger date wheel but hardly a new calibre.And now Rolex can say they are now 100% in-house made.But all Rolex movements are tested to exactly the same COSC standard as any other Swiss watch,no matter what Cal or what parts etc, they are made from.

Not according to the technical specifications posted here. The way I understand it, the 3136 is essentially a 3135 with the latest upgrades and a larger date wheel to account for the larger dial size of the DJ II. It won't be on the Submariner, I believe that will continue to use the 3135.

No..........

Rolex has not announced the creation of a 3136 movement..........Plenty of Internet sites have used this number, but they were just guessing, and they guessed wrong. Tech data in our Reference library shows what the new Subs and DSSD have inside.....3135's

It is speculated that the DJ II, which has a 3135 fitted with the Paraflex shock system would be that elusive caliber number since they changed the Day Date 3155 to 3156 with the Paraflex system, but it isn't found in their data yet..


No Rolex movement has been renumbered just because it received the new Parachrome hairspring.....

then why did they renumber 3185? did they do more than just change the hairspring/shock system?

The calibre 3185 was first changed to 3186 with the introduction of the full gold GMT-IIC which was fitted with the blue Parachrome spring. All the subsequent GMT-IIC's that followed, were all fitted with the 3186 calibre.

I think they must have fiddled with the ratios as well, given the "wiggle" test and how far the hour hand jumps when the crown is turned

Yes, the gearing ratio was also modified to give a difference in the small hour jump.

And it's modified so you have to swirl it when it have run out.

Sorry about reviving an old thread...but does all DJ 2011 movement have Parachrome and new shock absorber system (from Rolex)?? Or just DJ 41mm??

I also read about improved lume...when did this occur??
