38mm ROC vs Daytona

hi,
Anyone have both watches and can take side by side pics please?

I been thinking of getting the 26315st but there is literally nowhere for me to try these watches on where i'm from. I have a few daytonas so would like to see how it wears vs a daytona. I also have 15400's and it fits just a tad but big but still wearable, i'm worried the 38 might be a bit too small for my taste.

Don’t focus on the dial size, focus on the lug to lug dimensions, the 38mm ROC wears much bigger than a typical 38mm watch. I’ve owned several versions of the Daytona and would pick the AP ROC every day of the week. The finishing and bracelet are just a notch above. Plus an actual date function on the AP.

I’m sure someone will post pics but wouldn’t hesitate on the AP. What size is your wrist?

probably about 6.25

daytona fits me perfectly. 15400 a lil bit big in pic but i dont mind it in real life.

I tried the 38mm ROC last year at an AD. I was wearing my SS Daytona on that day and got to compare them side by side. They were almost identical in size but I felt the AP was wider from lug to lug than the Daytona.

The 38 ROC wears a bit bigger than the 38.5 Daytona, so more like a true 40mm, if the 400 is a bit big then the ROC should be ideal.

I’m waiting on an allocation for the 38mm Chrono. I’ve tried it on WG the boutique and it wears similar to a Daytona if not slightly larger due to the pushers and chunkier case.

I think the size is perfect if you’re not a really big guy.

I have both and the ROC wears similar to the Daytona. Dial size seems slightly smaller on the AP but the bracelet taper is definitely noticeable (especially with you having the 15400). It will fit your wrist well.

oooh looks like its smaller dial slightly but the case is slightly larger, definitely bigger lug to lug since the RO flares out.

wish i could try it on somewhere, so hard to pull the trigger when you can't even try on a 40k piece.

Here you go. Had opportunity to try on and see 38mm ROC. vs my Daytona. Also wrist shots on my 6.75-7in wrist

I have 4-5 Daytonas and they all wear bigger than the 40mm size would suggest.

I’ve been in lust with the 26315st in Silver with the Blue sub dials but was concerned it’d wear too small for me at 38mm.

Tried on a Pink Gold model at AP House last month and was crushed that it was, for me, just too small for my 7.25” wrist/6’ 2” frame……disappointing doesn’t even cover it and I really hope the 25th edition next year in 41mm gets that same dial as well as the rumoured open rear case back and in house movement too.

Fingers crossed but I’m still so jealous of you 26315 owners that can carry this gorgeous piece off

Curious, besides your well documented affinity of the white day Daytona, what has prevented you from adding the ROC's to the team?

I agree with this 100%. It's odd, when I look at the side by side photos, just like the ones above, the look very close together. But on the wrist for some reason, it becomes very clear suddenly the 315 wears smaller than the Daytona. I'm not sure why, but I think maybe the bigger lugs make the dial look smaller on the wrist.

If they come out with 39mm or 41mm of blue/white combo next year with in house movement, get outta my way!

I find the AP to wear slightly bigger

If you’re concerned, the grey dial variant has a visually larger dial than the panda since the dial color is more similar to the metal, and the outer chapter ring on the grey dial is white vs the blue of panda. The blue chapter ring on the panda contrasts with the white/silver dial, and your eye is drawn to the silver part. That being said, I love both.

the 38mm ROC is a very nice watch. I like it a lot and would be fantastic to pick one up, but do i love it? $30k for a "i like it a lot" watch is food for thought.
