1984 Rolex 16013 Datejust Quick Set DJ36 Golden Brown Dial Box Papers Patina

For sale is an excellent condition, all original 36mm 18 karat yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex Datejust. The 8,479,xxx serial 16013 was originally purchased in October 1984, and is accompanied by boxes and papers. Included in the box and papers set are: an outer Rolex box, a green Rolex inner box, the original dated warranty paper, a papers holder, three instruction manuals, and a paper holder spacer.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed yellow gold fluted bezel. The Datejust is mounted on its original 62523H steel and gold Jubilee bracelet which is secured by a deployant clasp. The clasp on the 62523H bracelet is stamped with a “I6” clasp code which correlates with a production date of June 1984, meaning that the bracelet is original to the watch. The bracelet appears to be fully linked, containing 6 removable links, and will comfortably fit a wrist in excess of 7.65 inches. The Rolex features a golden mocha brown dial with applied polished yellow gold stick hour markers, gold tritium coated hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The dial on the 16013 is truly what sets this watch apart, as the dial has faded to a gorgeous golden mocha brown color which is truly eye-catching, and presents beautifully in natural light. Furthemore, the dial has acquired a “London Fog” ghost fade, as the text blends in with the dial at certain angles and lighting conditions. In addition, the lume plots and hands are fully intact, and have acquired an even light cream colored patina, which beautifully accent the dial. The movement used in the 16013 is the quick set self winding Rolex Calibre 3035. Prior to listing the watch passed both an accuracy test and 50 meter pressure test with flying colors.

The case has been preserved well and contains thick even lugs, which are also fairly crisp. The bezel flutes are also sharp and crisp, and appear to be untouched. The watch’s original 62523H Jubilee bracelet has stood the test of time well, and contains minimal stretch. Would rate the bracelet stretch 87.5% plus. In addition to the sharp case and well preserved bracelet, some of the watch’s yellow gold accents have acquired a rose gold oxidation, which only adds to the watch’s untouched vintage aesthetics, making this 16013 a true gem. Overall the Rolexis is in excellent condition and is a truly gorgeous example of a vintage 16013 Datejust.

Shall deliver for $5,995
