16710 service: will rolex sell me a jubilee and bezel?
Hi, I have a 16710 pepsi on an oyster braclet from 2004 that i purchased 3 years ago. I have a few questions about servicing:
when it comes time for servicing (i think it was last serviced in 2016), I was wondering if it is possible to ask rolex to put on a black bezel and jubilee braclet? i have searched the forums and have seen different answers: that they won't do this at all, or they will do it but will not return the pepsi bezel and oyster braclet, or they will do it and send back the originals (I would like to keep them). also, i would like to know how much this will cost; it is my understanding from reading the forum that the service will be around $1000, jubilee $1000, and bezel $100. would the watch's resale value decrease if i replaced these parts (not that i plan to sell; i think this is the only watch i will have for the rest of my life) finally, i doubt they would do this and folks here would not recommend it, but would i be able to get a roulette date wheel as well? thank you |

Rolex will put a Jubilee on for you for about £1050 UK price.
They'll also change your bezel insert (so long as your watch was not born a LN) if they change it you can ask for your old insert back (they will charge more) If your paperwork shows XXXXXLN they will only replace it for a black. If Rolex system shows your watch was born as a LN they will only change it for black. Rolex are becoming more and more strict with changing bezels so do it quick. Thanks for the answer.
I don't have any paperwork because I bought the watch used - does this mean if the system shows it was actually a black bezel to begin with, and all i want is to service the watch, no replacing bezel/braclet, they will take away the pepsi unless i pay more? (if i could only have one bezel, definitely would be pepsi) O_O |

Pop off the bezel, take off the bracelet , and bring it in for service saying you got a great deal on a beat up watch head , and you’d like to restore it to a full watch w jubilee and black bezel.

I had the bezel insert of my GMT 16710 swapped from Pepsi to Coke a couple of years ago at RSC London, and the old insert returned to me at a cost of around £45. Apparently this would have been cheaper if I had allowed Rolex to retain the Pepsi insert. Not sure if my watch was an LN serial and the only comment the staff member made was that he had "checked" and that it was okay to swap the bezel. He did not make any mention of the original colour of the insert though.

If the watch has a Pepsi on it, and it was originally a LN they may do what they have done in the past and will say "the watch needs to be put back to Geneva spec" i.e. LN insert. Some people get lucky, sometimes RSC don't give a crap and sometimes RSC will be pure ar**s. Best bet is to take your watch to RSC and ask for a bezel insert change and see if it is possible. Also, London St James will differ from other service centres which is a shame. I know that Singapore have stopped doing bezel changes which is beyond me. There's some people who will absolutely refute this, but many people will tell you now that this is what Rolex do. Check some of my old posts and I've mentioned it previously when I've had my bezel changed. Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk |

This service was from RSC Dallas for my 16710. They gave me (aka let me buy) a new blue/red bezel and jubilee bracelet and returned the old. It was originally a coke on oyster.

I had my GMT Master 16710 serviced in 2017. The bezel insert (disk) was a $51 charge.

Crazy how cheap RSC sells the "discs" for when they are being sold on ebay for $500+
And same with the jubilee... how is there a market for $2000 jubilees if RSC will just sell you a new one at half that price? |

16710 service: will rolex sell me a jubilee and bezel?
My suggestion is unless your oyster bracelet is really beat up and needs a polish, take it off and then send just the watch head for service. Since the jubilee was an option for the 16710, they should offer to put one on if you ask for it.
I did something similar a month ago at the RSC in Los Angeles. I had recently acquired an oyster 16710 with both the coke and black bezel and wanted to add a jubilee and pepsi. I originally asked my AD about a bracelet & bezel swap but they wouldn’t do it without a full service and trade of parts. Since mine didn’t need a service and I live close enough to the RSC I went there in person to see what they would say. The lady I spoke to was very friendly and said they typically require a bracelet trade. Luckily since I had taken mine off and had it on a nato, I could chose either the oyster or jubilee. She did allow me to keep my coke bezel though. The jubilee cost $1050 and the bezel was $70. I know RSC around the world have different policies so it’s worth calling/stopping by to see what they say. I’m assuming they must get a lot of calls everyday about wanting to buy bracelets/bezels so a little kindness and respect goes a long way. You never know what you can get if you ask nicely! The perfect watch! |

I think it depends on which jubilee bracelet. I just bought one for $1850 directly from the RSC for my DJ.
