I've made up my mind...new Submariner 14060M for me!
If you happened to read my earlier thread you will know that I was unhappy with owning my pre-owned Sub no date. Well, I made up my mind and decided to buy a new Sub...but not without some drama, of course...
I went to my AD on Monday and picked up a beautiful "M" series no date. Got her home and this is where things get interesting... I go to remove the link that I always have to and guess what?? no removable links in the bracelet! Flashback now to me picking the watch up... I said to my self "no need to put it on...I'm wearing the same watch and I've had plenty of Subs on my wrist..." I looked the watch over plenty but just didn't put it on. My fault, I know. So I call first thing Tuesday morning and tell my salesperson what happened. She tells me as soon as we hang up she is calling her main office and getting another watch shipped overnight. Ok, no prob...I can wait. During this overnight period I begin to think to myself that I wished I had mentioned to her that I'd like to see if she can get me a new "Z" serial as I prefer the cleaner dial. I had accepted the SCOC writing as I already picked the watch up, but know I felt like I had a second chance. Since this thought came at midnight or so, I accepted that it would be too late as the watch was already on its way. I get my phone call the next morning that my watch is in. I head there after work and wouldn't you know that when she opens up the new watch... a "Z" serial! Has to be fate, right? Now I'm even more excited than I was just getting a new Sub...now I get to keep my clean dial. BTW she told me that a co-worker took the links out of the original Sub I bought to sell to another customer so they could wear their watch out of the store. They were planning on replacing the links at some point I assume. Whatever the case I am super happy with my new Submariner. I would have been 100% satisfied with an "M" serial, but now I am 150% satisfied!! I haven't done an official photoshoot yet but pics will be coming soon! Thanks to all who weighed in while I tried to figure out my dilema. You guys and gals are the best!

My newer "Z" Sub ND has the COSC script. I guess they ran different batches with prestamped cases.

Congratulations on pushing the BUTTON on the non-COSC Sub ND. It's a MASSA-have watch and you showed great BRAWN power selecting it! You are TRULLI to be envied.

I am in the market to buy a sub as well, what exactly is the difference between the Z and M serial number...I asked my AD for a Z so she is currently looking.

The M serial (and some Z) has the "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" on the dial and it also has the Rolex branding on the rehaute (flange)

Nice watch!
Did the non-COSC subs normally come with the red "Chronometer" tag? |

Different dials only applies for the NoDate Subs. Just to clarify.
