Vacheron constantin 4500V Rose Gold Blue Dial question

Hey guys,

New to VC. I know about the 4500V steel and didn't have much hope of being offered one today after my appointment at the boutique. But they did offer me the opportunity to put down a deposit for "there's a new one that's rose gold with the blue dial coming out in 2022" (per the sales associate).

I googled it and looks like VC released a 4500V in rose gold with blue dial this year at watches and wonders. I checked chrono24 and only 4-5 are listed, but more than double retail.

So it's looking like this is new and hot. But before I pull the trigger may I ask for the opinion of VC enthusiasts who are more educated on this model?

Appreciate any and all info.

Thanks

Vacheron constantin 4500V Rose Gold Blue Dial question

Aloha!

I believe the msrp is in the 53-55k range...

IMHO, it is one of the few value buys in today's secondary market if you wanted one immediately.

Owning "sports" watches on bracelets, I can tell you it's more robust than anything similar, and the blue is spectacular.

And gasp, it can actually get wet.

I won't endorse or bash anything I don't own or haven't owned.

I'd imagine these continue a climb in as popularity grows.

It's a great daily wearer...

Excuse the fingerprints...

Have a great weekend.

Just for clarification, are they saying they have an updated version of this coming out in 2022?

Looks like what she was describing, reference number seems about right. Was this released?

You're saying secondary market is cheaper than retail?

Yes, I believe it was announced latter 2020, and has been available since. I vaguely remember a huge price increase on this specific model in 2021 when it went from 46.2k to the current 54.5k.

If your local AD/boutique can order it for you, it's not a bad proposition as its been hold its value and selling a a bit over list/tax from what I can see.

Best of luck if you decide to get it, it's a stunning piece.

$54.5K, a regulated (not free sprung) balance and no hacking seconds. It's a beautiful watch; if that alone is your thing, cool. If movement design means anything to you, there are so many better options available at that price. YMMV.

I would love to see VC bring back the brown dial that they initially offered on the steel version and make it an option on the RG version. IMO - it would be a 5711R killer.

4500V Rose Gold model used to be $49100, couple months ago the price went up 11% to $54500.

VC doesn't produce this model much, try to make it as rare as it can be to jack up the price.

I don't think you can buy on secondary market cheaper than MSRP.

Would you guys take the 4500V rose gold or the 5500V (blue dial Chrono)?

The only reason I didn't consider the 5500V is because it's 42.5mm, but that's the other piece they offered me.

What kind of fantastic boutique is this offering multiple hard to get watches to someone new to VC?

Both watches you are talking about is impossible to even get on a waitlist here in Asia..

4500V RG would be my choice.

Man it is stunning. It's just a big purchase is all.

But looks like these are trading over retail in the secondary market. You guys think that will continue or that's the case just because they're new right now?

I think it’s just the beginning of it all.

The 4500V in RG is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion

Non hacking seconds doesn’t bug me on my steel version.

The movement is beautiful and the watch is incredibly practical

Saw someone wearing this the other day. It really pops in real life. Very noticeable. High wrist presence.
