Is this a correct 1983 16750 GMT?

I am looking for opinions on this 1983 16750 GMT. It has what appears to be the correct 78360 with 580 end links bracelet.

The seller is asking just under 13k USD.

Nice that it has an appropriate bracelet. Rare these days.

I assume you say 1983 based on the serial, hopefully. Many different guides

But it does appear like an early 1980s model based on the earliest "no date" dial version

Looks nice.

Is it correct for the dial to have those gold surrounds in 1983 ? I don’t think so... therefore the dial may be a later service or replacement ?

That is the first generation gold surrounds dial (absent the word DATE on the dial) and is not a service dial. The watch appears correct to me. I've seen several of the 16750 gold surround marker dials with serial numbers as early as 8.2 million.

I definitely defer to springer ! I. My defense it’s an early gold surround, haha. I am partial to the look of the non gold surround dials

Here are a couple 16750s with the early glossy dial that I have owned in the past. One has an 8.1 million serial number and the other is 8.2 million.

Although they tend to spider or matte out, these 1980s 16750 w/ wg surrounds GMTs, when clean, have a mirror like gloss dial that is even more beautiful than the later 16710 variants.
