Richard Mille Waitlists?

I'm wondering how this brand operates in regards to new customers.

They've recently released the RM35-03 which I think is amazing (especially the dark blue one with the white strap and red button).

What are the chances of a new customer obtaining this if they walk in with $220k in their pocket? Would they be added on a genuine wait-list or would they be nudged to buy lesser models first to 'build a relationship'?

I don't live near a RM boutique and I don't have anything near 220k, just curious about the market lol.

These will be allocated to people who have spent millions. There is absolutely zero chance they’d entertain you getting one. Sorry.

Otherwise everyone would get in line. Secondary will be hundreds of thousands more.

I had the same question, though expected the answer. This is a genuine question, and I apologize if it comes off as moronic or naive, but does anyone have any recommendations on where to start with RM? I've been under the impression that it's essentially too late to start a relationship with them at this point and haven't bothered trying, but since I haven't looked into it, I figured I'd ask. I understand that pieces like this aren't gonna happen right off the bat, but is there anything that's a possibility for someone walking in off the street? Has the ship sailed on models like the 67-01, 63-01, 030, 010, etc.?

Only way to start a relationship is to purchase a watch they have in their boutique. It’s normally a diver or a ladies watch. The NYC boutique typically has 2-3 of these in inventory at a time.

I just went to the RM boutique recently to have a look and also try my luck to register interest for a 67-02. Honestly the SA was very welcoming, didn’t put any pressure to purchase other watches to be considered for one. Had the chance to try on a rose gold 72-01 as well. I’m under no illusion that I will get one, but no harm trying I would say. Might take a few years, may not even arrive but it was a good experience. Even got a nice ambassador book and a 67-02 book featuring Wayde Van Niekerk.

What were your thoughts on the RM72? Have yet to see one in person but looks incredible in photos.

Was the 72-01 for sale? Again, sorry if this is a dumb question -- I'm seriously clueless as it pertains to RM. :)

No. It was only for display. But they let me tried it on and I was blown away by it. I’m a big Formula 1/Racing fan so chronographs are my thing and the 72-01 was so well designed in terms of the sub-dial placement that I would say it’s really as what the ads say - racing machine on the wrist! You can appreciate the openworked nature of the dial which gives it so much character.

Absolutely stunning! I went to the boutique with 3 watches in mind - 67-01, 67-02 and 72-01 as they all had the thinner case compared to the RM11 and the RM65. Managed to try the RM67-01 and the 72-01 RG as they were both available for display. Coming from a 5968G the 67-01 in titanium felt light, too light in fact. That’s my greatest worry for the 67-02. The 72-01 on the other hand felt amazing on the wrist, good weight to it. The slightly thicker case compared to the 67-01 also gives it more wrist presence. The sub dials gives it extra character. The rose gold that RM uses is also of a darker shade which I prefer as compared to the ones AP and PP use. And the rose gold case blends well with the black rubber strap. Overall I have nothing to say negative about it in terms of appearance.

The only thing was the price! It was £50k more compared to the 67-02 and a whopping £100k more than a 67-01. The titanium 72-01 was slightly cheaper I was told but not much. I would say the rose gold would be my choice if I can afford one. That said, the SA said it might not fit the elastic band that comes with the 67-02. I was quite disappointed by that. Overall though, the service of RM boutique is top notch! And the materials they provide is second to none for potential customer!

Any pics of the watches side by side or on your wrist? Would love to get a better understanding of RM sizing.

Sorry I forgotten to take pictures when I was at the boutique. Tbh I was more in awe of the whole experience. I would say it probably feels bigger on the wrist slightly compared to the 5968G, mainly due to its tonneau shape which gives it the impression of a bigger lug to lug span.

Here’s a wrist shot of the 5968G. The 72-01 RG feels so good because of its weight. I might consider changing my interest to the 72-01 RG but affordability is a concern though.

Like I said, the promotional material of RM is second to none!

Hi B, which 72 are you referring to, since you already have a 72-01 that he’s talking about?

I've been offered 10+ pieces from my RM associate in the past year with no purchase history. I haven't taken any because they're either bust downs or the huge rm60-01. I think like any brand these days, if you want a specific model, you're going to have to buy something you don't want

I was told RM allocated entirely off of your profile and not purchase history

Ah, true. I’m actually not minding a diver now. But as a preexisting client I don’t like the idea of having to buy something I don’t want at that price point to get other pieces.

Appears his post was in 2021 and I purchased mine in mid 2022, hasn't blown me away tbh.

Geez, I’m such a dolt, I didn’t notice the dates.
Sorry about that.
