Clearwater Beach FL Vacation Advise?

Our family will be going to Clearwater Beach Florida in a few weeks and were looking for some advice on restaurants, sightseeing, etc... We'll be staying on Sand Key Beach and have 2 kids, 7 & 8.
I searched the net and found a few things like Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Pier 60, Calypso Queen Lunch Cruise, etc...

Any recomendations from you locals or has anyone vacationed in the Tampa/Clearwater area?

Crabby Bills and Molly Goodhead are 2 good restaurants For sightseeing drive south (about 20 mins.) and check out John's Pass Also make sure you go to Tarpon Springs it's just north of Clearwater Have fun that is a great area

You haven't been to clearwater unless you visit Frenchy's for a grouper sandwich. As Jim said, visit Tarpon Springs and get a couple sponges. I would also head south to Anna Maria and Longboat Key, some of the best beaches on the west coast in my opinion.

Go to Ft. Desoto on the south end of Pinellas county (voted #1 beach in country). Also try to fit in a Rays game in downtown St. Pete. Lastly try Guppy's for dinner, very good. Have fun.

Head on down to Longboat Key and St. Armands Circle, some good watch shops there. I never cared much for Clearwater.

Too built up, too much traffic. Most people love the place, it's just me.
