Christmas incoming - OP 36 Black

Hello everyone, this is my first incoming post in this forum. I’m thrilled to share my happiness now!

After waiting for a few months from my AD(never have any purchase history before; though I had another Datejust 36 from another AD a year ago), I finally got my call before Christmas! Very lucky to have it for this timing.

This 126000 looks great; practical, versatile, understated yet contains all of the essence of a Rolex Oyster. And I’m in love of its symmetrical look too!

As for this AD, it’s absolutely amazing, look forward to keep this relationship onwards! Truly appreciate how this AD treat their customers, and help an amateur like me (without purchase history) to sort out the possible choices that I can wait for, and really made it happen eventually for me!

At last, Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and wish every real Rolex users would be able to get their desired timepieces from AD!

Beautiful piece, congratulations! Spent some time admiring the same model at my AD two days ago (exhibition only though). Absolute stunner, wear in good health.

I think the OP 36 really is one of the stars of current range.

they've already surpassed batman, pepsi and even daytona in terms of market value.

Huge congrats! It's one of the coolest line of watches that Rolex currently produces. Very desirable piece; it's both handsome and sporty. Hope you enjoy it to the fullest.

Very nice! A big congrats! Such a classic Rolex look that can be worn with shorts and t-shirt, but also looks great with a tux. I believe this watch has the bright black dial? Otherwise known as a sunburst dial?

Thank you. It was around 4 months. The AD put my name for the black/silver one.

Thanks!

Yes the design is such versatile; the fully brushed bracelet makes the watch sporty; yet the hour indices are made in a way such that sun light can reflect on each side of the indices (sorry I am in lack of the technical term in describing this) , that brings some dressy touch on the watch too.

Yes it's a bright black dial/sunburst dial. IMO due to the black color, the sunray effect (diffuse from the centre of the dial) is not that significant of other dial colors. For example when I take a side by side comparison between my Datejust 36 blue dial (126200) which was also a sunburst dial, the sunray effect is more observable in my Datejust than my OP. And it's one of the reasons that I find it more easily to read the hour and minute hands in my OP too.

Such a under rated watch, the 36mm OPs are the sleepers in the OP range right now.

other than materials finish, are the 36 DJ and OP same dimensions (bracelet width, bezel, etc.). The crystal sits higher, perhaps?

Unfortunately I don't have any calliper to have exact measurements, but from naked eye it's almost the same.

Just came across with this excellent comparison video in YouTube that might helps:
