Anyone have a dog

Hi all

We got a puppy 4 months ago. A British Bulldog. My god what a bloody mistake I didn’t realise what a puppy was like. We have looked after many older dogs but this is so annoying.

Do any of you who have a dog remember wanting to give it back every single day of the week and not actually liking it?

When does the thing calm down and stop eating f&@ing sticks of the ground. My one threw up in the park after trying to eat a stick and it still didn’t bloody learn. If anyone wants a free bulldog puppy let me know lol.

I feel your pain. We just got a standard poodle puppy a few weeks ago and it’s a full time job looking after this little guy. He brings more joy than anger thankfully.

Bulldogs are the best. That’s the only breed I’ve ever owned. We thought ours was gonna be lazy but he didn’t calm down probably for the first 3 years lol…Let’s see some pics

This is all normal behavior for a puppy.. They’ll settle down after 1-2 years old. Puppies regardless of breed are a ball of energy, but luckily, they settle down much quicker than children.

Dogs are a lifetime commitment and come with a great deal of responsibility, but the love and enjoyment they bring into one’s life makes it all worthwhile. Please don’t give the dog up unless it’s to a verified good home.

We have three brussels griffons and they can be a handful but we absolutely love them. Puppies can be challenging but they eventually grow out of the puppy phase.

A Jack Russel was the biggest mistake we made years ago. We ended up getting rid of it a few months after we got it. A sheltie was more to our liking. I think it probably doesn't hurt to have a bit of knowledge about the breed before you get one. In that case my wife made a decision before I had any knowledge about what she planned on doing.

A Goldendoodle, but has more of a retriever look (which is definitely to my liking).

I can't imagine buying a dog and then giving it up. Yes they are alot of work, (not our first rodeo), but they are SO worth it.

Stick with it. You bought it for a reason

Sorry to hear it Paul. I lost my German Shepard that I grew up with. It was very painful experience, like losing a human sibling. I think that’s why I am trying to avoid getting another Dog. The wife wants a Toy Poodle which sounds like getting a cat.

Lol I read some people are respectfully keeping their comments to themselves which means the probably think I am the devil or worse.

We won’t give him up it was just a joke but my god I don’t get how people say they love their dogs. I have two kids and they don’t bite me. Or try to hump me.

Maybe it will just take time I train this thing everyday have bought nice toys and games and feed it food that cost me about £90 a month but man is he such a pain. Hopefully I ll love him one day.

He loves other dogs and people so much I bet if I dropped him off somewhere to like a dog sitter he would rather be with them lol.

Also I never wear my Rolex watches with him just a g shock as he tried to chew all my watches.

I’m genuinely curious, but why did you get a puppy to begin with? Sounds like dog ownership may not be the right fit for you.

Pets are animals, they're not family, and they aren't human beings. I had no issues giving up the Jack Russel that didn't work out. We just found somebody that wanted him more than we did. Probably ended up benefiting everybody that way.

I've had more than a few dogs and the last one died almost a year ago. Great pet and I really enjoyed having him around. But at the end of his life I wasn't going to pay heaps of money to try to cure his cancer though. I would do all I could possibly afford and more for one of my family but I'm not going to do that for an animal. I'm sure there are those who have no issue with spending thousands on a pets health care but that just something I am unwilling to do.

I think cos i have looked after loads of older dogs I didn’t realise the puppy bit. Luckily I posted on a dog forum and loads of people have said don’t worry loads of people go through this feeling of what have I done. Some guys even said the first few weeks bought them to tears.

Wow thanks for the support and push. Your dog is Lovley. Yep will stick with it think I just needed a moan lol. I ordered him I a new yak milk chewer and two relaxing beds which are coming tommrow so hopefully he will like that.

Here is my baby. 14 months now. It was really tough in the beginning. My wife was going to give him up. It drove her crazy. Now she is completely in love.

I also have kids. A lot of days, the dog behaves better.

We have four. The first 3 were a breeze, the fourth was a bit of a challenge.
It may require patience but it’s worth it. Dogs may not learn things on the first try, but then again neither do most humans.
