Could Rolex discontinue DSSD black dial alone?

Given the greater popularity of the JC DSSD, does it make sense that rather than discontinuing the entire model line they would cut the black dial from the catalogue? Maybe introduce a new dial or a PM version? I’m thinking in line of what they did to the Milgauss a few years ago. What would that do to their respective valuations?

Thinking of picking one up for my next watch…

I'm no expert in materials, but I'd be curious if a PM DSSD could still withstand the amount of pressure the stainless model can.

If the DSSD goes away, most likely both versions will be gone. However, if only one goes, it’s likely the D-blue (aka James Cameron) will go.

No one

No one Knows,
No one ever knew before,

All theses “what will” questions..

The fact,
No one has any clue for anything that will be with Rolex models

Everyone is guessing

No way they launched the new model in 2018. It is too early to delete it from the catalogue

Not impossible. The SD4K ref 116600 was launched in 2014 and discontinued in 2017.

Naaah don't think so. My AD will get me a D-Blue in a months time he said after 5 months of wait. But he said it is really hard to get now and he didn't came across that many anymore. So who knows? But PM no. Maybe two tone.

Ya never know but I could see the D-Blue being discontinued and the standard black dial staying.
