Hulks ticking higher

Has anyone else noticed that the second hand market price on Hulks ticked up a bit in the past week or two? There use to be a decent amount of Hulks on Chrono24 (USA filter) in the mid to high $20k range, which seemed to have been the going rate for the past 10 months or so, when now almost all the late models (2017-2021) are in the mid to low $30's.

I also see a 2019 model on DavidSW for $34,500 which seems like the highest i've seen on David's site as well for a Hulk.

If the markets don't recover and the interest rates rise this crazy Rolex market will see a correction.

There was a price rise at the beginning of the year. This always bumps the market. It took a couple of weeks to kick in.

How is value of Dollar, Euro, etc? Weakness means prices go up. Always weakness, always more, prices always go up. No stability, so you buy now or pay more later. Always been that way over time. Just gets faster and faster as time passes, and now is very fast decline, so prices rise faster. A good school teaches this.

Nope, though there was a recent shipment of many timepieces to the USA. Have had three friends and myself get a recent incoming of various pieces.

I'm in a Canadian Rolex Facebook group and would say it's been a lot longer than just two weeks. Hulks were in the $27k CDN range back in September and then November onwards shot up to $37 - $42k for unworn/stickered.

I hope all values tank (but they won't). I'm fairly new to Rolex and am already sick of all the investment crap, and flipping I see.

Of course if Rolex releases a Sub 41 Hulk you could quickly see prices heading back down sharply. That was one of the "leaks" posted but I still would be surprised if they do.

Another logical reaction to this “rumour” would be a spike in Starbucks prices, which isn’t really happening..

What would be interesting is if the hulk does return in precious metal(gold/white gold, how this would affect SS hulk prices..

I heard somewhere that Rolex will soon announce something. Could be really big too! Don't miss out, as demand will be very high.

Even if the release a SS 126610 Hulk (they won’t), it will not result in any significant reduction in 116610 LV pricing, quite likely the original would still climb in price at a rapid pace! Now if they do have a new release in the Hulk…it will most likely be in Platinum or WG. I suspect this is a huge possibility, and will result in sky rocketing prices in the 116610LV’s!

As for current prices…yes…appears we have successfully jumped above the $25K range and even up close to $30K!

If they do release a precious metal hulk, it likely will cause a spike in the SS hulk prices..

And if none happens, the hulk will probably continue its trajectory

Given how fast the Daytona pandas and Pepsis are up trending…

I can't see them reintroducing a 41 mm Hulk and the new model only having a one year run. In PM I can see it. I always thought the Hulk would be great in YG with the green dial and bezel. Any modern Rolex that has been discontinued will continue to rise in price it is just how fast and how far.

Hulk in SS is returning, at least I think so.

Look at the the last 40 mm seadweller and the SD43. Or BLRO on oyster. Never say never!

Honestly, the watch market craze is mainly (underpin mainly) a US phenomenon - probably due to the US debt crisis. Printing money, etc. Increasing inflation. Placing money into "assets".

Sure, the market is partly crazy elsewhere - but not as infectious as in US at the moment. There is de facto an unbalance in the US.

In general, the same unbalance is not seen in Europe, even though the market is out of whack here as well - however not on the same skewed level as US.

For those that strongly disagree: Have a look at YT and at popular grey dealer / grey market dealers. You can't find the same "out of touch of reality" at the same scale as in the US.

Does all this mean that the market will crash?

I have no idea, but looking into the long term cycles (7 years), we're at a peak. 2021/2022 - 2014/2015 - 2007/2008 - 2000/2001 - 1993/1994 - 1986/1987

What happened at those 7 year interval peaks....

1994: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_bond_market_crisis

Trusted seller on here offered me $22k for my 'Starbucks' this week. They were offering much less than that just a few weeks ago. Just about anything in SS is going up. I don't see this changing until we find out what is released in March.
