Need expert advice for a Red Sub

Hello,

Could you please tell me what you think about this one:

The ref. of the bracelet is 78360 with End Links 501 (sot nor original, I don't know the date of production of this one).

The seller told me that the serial is 2,2 millions and the dial is original.

What do you think about the value of this watch? The fact that the bracelet is not the original one is really a negative point?

Thanks a lot for your feedback

2.2 Mil serial would make this one a 1967-68'ish

The bracelet ref number are correct for the period and model Sub, the dial to me looks in excellent condition but I'm no expert on this vintage sub.

Won't be long before our experts will be online

Dave.

Thanks Dave for your feedback. I think that the bracelet ref is from the 70's and I'm not sure it's the original one. So I don't know the real value of such a watch.

Hi Orchi,

The seller ask 8.500€EUR, and this is a brick and mortar shop, but I never buy something there. So I want to have expert advices about this one. Do you think it's OK with this Red Sub, and what do you think about the price?

Thanks a lot ;)

Err buddy Aston...at that asking price...
if you are not far from the shop...
do you think the Seller would let you take pics of the
1. case model reference n serial #...? (ok to hide the last few digits)
2. crown n crown tube
3. Inside caseback cover
4. Movement
5. Rear view of the watch...inside out.
6. check the accuracy of the movement.
7. Hands should be Tritium...no longer be luminous in dark.
8. At a distance...the Dial looks alright...but good closeup of the markets n plots would
be more reassuring...

As it is...on the surface...the bracelet set up is incorrect...
The correct setup was 7206 Riveted links bracelet with 80 End links...
Or...9315 Oyster folded links bracelet with 280 End Links...
That might cost you upto 1000 EUR depending on its conditions...

Few hundred more to match the hands...

The present bracelet setup is for GMT...

I would buy it without the incorrect bracelet (head only) to save a few £'s.

The hands look new, so as Orchi said I would find some matching hands.

The 'meters first' dial looks very nice and the lugs look strong.

Thanks for your reply guys.

The seller told me that everything instead the bracelet is original, what let you think that the hands are new? It seems that they have the same patina as the dial.

Steven, could you please remember where you saw this watch before?

Thanks for your help ;)

To me the dial is light cream and the hands are white.

Ask if they are newer replacements.
