Girard Perregeax Casquette 2.0

So this is an unusual one. I'm too young to remember LED watches from the '70s and I'm really not a quartz fan boy in any way but my AD called me about this last week and I was intrigued. Following from GPs only watch Casquette, here is the Casquette 2.0.

It's an unusual piece and something of a marmite watch (you love it or hate it) but it's definitely unique and interesting for sure. My only gripe is there is no contestant time it's by the press of a button as otherwise battery life would be in the days or weeks...

It's fully ceramic, case and bracelet and it's packaging and features are quirky. You can set a secret date for example that lights up for 20sec a day. It has time, sec, date, chrono, 2nd time zone and secret date functions all controlled from two buttons on the side. It's light at just over 100g and certainly cuts and interesting shape on the wrist. Price... Well it's as much as I paid for my GMT II back in 2011 so it's no value proposition, I will leave the perceived value up to you to decide. It's limited to 820 worldwide and is sold out online with limited numbers in showrooms.

Anyway. Over to the pics.

Oh wow, looks like AD pulled a quick one on you, I just looked at the price as well - yikes. I don't know what to say except if you like it that's all that matters, congrats.

This is just such a cool watch to have. So unlike anything else really. A true conversation starter piece. Reminds me a speedometer.

Lol, I couldn't give a damn but thanks. Same AD has sold me 4 Patek Philippe watches in the last 9 months (Inc 3 nautilus 5726a, 7118a & 7010r) so he's certainly not trying to pull a fast one on me. I already said some love it or hate it and perceived value is personal and subjective. Couldn't really care if you love it or hate it just posted it as it's new, relatively rare and different.

I like it a lot and I'm old enough to remember the LED watches of the seventies and my dad even owned one (a Pulsar).

I only wish we kept it. It was outrageously expensive when new but when the quartz revolution took place the LED watches lost appeal and the Pulsar was probably sent to the trash bin instead of changing the batteries. Too bad.

I like this. Much more unique and forward-thinking than most of the Omega releases this week.

"Click here to enquire" doesn't mean it's available... Or am I missing something?

Congratulations! Just ordered one from Dover Street Market - so did a friend and it looks like we got the last two.

Looking forward to this piece -

By the way love the come back 4 Pateks in x amount of months… mic drop.

It's a nice piece, as many agree with 'interesting' pricing. Hopefully new firmware can get the display corrected for the 'three-second rule'. Love my Hamilton PSR MTX, and the very innovative display is visible in normal light without pressing any buttons.
