Help me choose a Chronograph to wait for my Daytona
Hi guys,
Tired of waiting for Daytona, got money to spend and want to spend it now. After researching I narrowed my wishlist to one of these two pieces: Option 1: Zenith Defy El primero 21 (Rose gold case) Ref 18.9000.9004/71.R585 https://www.zenith-watches.com/int/p...0-9004-71-r585 Option 2: MOONWATCH PROFESSIONAL - Sedna™ gold on Leather strap 310.63.42.50.01.001 https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...31063425001001 I can get them online for about $20.000 USD each (brand new). What I like about the Zenith: Has two escapements. Chronograph beats @ 50hz I have no watches with skeletal dial. I think it is very juvenile and stylish. Would be my first 44mm watch. What I like about the Omega: Iconic. Don't have any Moonwatches in my collection. Beautiful. Perfect size for me (probably more wearable than the Zenith) Holds value better (even though I have never sold a watch) Looking forward to the opinion of the experts. Which one would you get? |

I think you should go for a VC Overseas Chrono, either Gen 2 if you like grand date or Gen3 like I have :)

Help me choose a Chronograph to wait for my Daytona
Everyone has to have a Moonwatch in their collection. I have a Daytona, Hulk, Batman, and Sub date and I wear the Moonwatch most of all because I honestly just love it. That said, personally, if I were spending $20k for one, I’d get a gray market Ed White because I think it’s really cool (though it appears you want one in PM).

Wait for the watch you want …. The Daytona.
If you can’t wait, Speedy is the one I’d get of the two options you list, but like the VC5500 better (blue or reverse panda). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Don't get a VC. It will make you raise an eyebrow on the Daytona side by side.

Get a Daytona grey, then sell that one once your allocation comes in.

another vote for panda VC Gen 3 chrono, but i appreciated thats not the question you asked :)
Out of those 2 i would lean towards the Omega, even more the new green dial https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...31063425010001 |

I recently tried the rose gold Omega but with gold bracelet. I was very positively surprised, very nice feel on the wrist and not too heavy as some other gold watches are. I even had the chance to get one at a very very good price, basically at 40% discount to list price (seem you are able to get it at a similar price if you can buy it without the bracelet for 20k?). But I didn't pull the trigger, I just feel the Speedy is really nice in its raw hesalite version, its not a luxury gold watch for me.

Amazing. 0 votes for the Zenith so far. I think it is a really cool watch.
The VC is way more expensive and right now I'm hunting for a PM case. |

First of all, please note that I'm a former Daytona owner who sold it with absolutely no regrets.
Second, I own a Speedmaster and wear it daily. Third, you want a Daytona so don't settle for anything else. Just go grey if you're tired of waiting and have money to spend. Just my 2c. |

Omega for me. If you like the green give it a few months. Almost no omega remains coveted.

If you want a Daytona, why not go grey? if you are tired of waiting of the AD waitlist game.......I wouldn't settle on second option choices either

Why don't you buy an Omega Moonswatch? $200 for a Speedmaster. Pretty good value for you to get an Omega.
