Watch Youtoobers

Recently a bunch of you tube channels have all changed their channel names from a general branding name to an individual’s name. They give honourable reasons for doing this but I can’t work out if the are copying each other or if YouTube has decided to promote individual named channels over more generic branding. Perhaps it’s not very interesting but can anyone explain what is happening?

Channels that changed names recently include bark&jack, timeless watch channel, and watch gringa. I suspect there are others.

The trend is people are doing this to get verified on IG (blue checkmark) more quickly.

I may be a minority, but to create a YouTube channel one has to be on the spectrum of narcissism. To record yourself, alone, sharing your thoughts or opinions on this that or the other must involve some level of self-indulgence. The name changes, while I’m not familiar with any of them, is likely due to them wanting to create a personal “brand.”

Could be many reasons but as they monetize they need to think of the next decade as their brand grows and values increase. It’s their livelihood and proof of concept is achieved. That and also lawsuits if other media have similar names registered.

And yes they can seem cringe but for every million views it’s real $$$ enough to quit their job jobs.

The repetitiveness and terrible all gender manicure game for watch handling I can do without.

Well said.

It’s amazing to me how great production values can elevate most any guy or gal with opinions into a Watch You Tuber.

All this means you’ll have to wait even longer for your Submariner at retail.

I noticed one recently. I didn't realize it was a trend. I only watch a few.
