Some Observations about my new GMT IIc

Well this is now the second day for my new watch and I thought I'd post some observations. First of all it is a beautiful and well constructed watch. The attention to detail is great. It is a great example of Rolex craftsmanship. I love the mirror finish on the center links. The cyclops makes the date easy to read and the bezel moves sharply and positively. The platinum finish on the numbers against a black bezel provides a striking contrast and is another example of Rolex detailing. Setting the watch was somewhat difficult . This was because I had difficulty getting the stem to the correct detent. I love the half link adjustability and the solid ends. Rolex you scored big on this one.

Almost 4 months for me now, and the novelty has not worn off. I love this watch! My others get pretty much ZERO wrist time now.

Just two further observations.
1. I keep finding new plastic overlays. A real treat. Something new everyday.
2. Much as I love the mirror finish it shows fine scratches too easily.

5th day and loving it. I just wear my Sub to bed now, to give it wrist time so that it does not get jealous.

That's the only thing I don't like on the new GMT IIc, but this is indeed a beautifull timepiece

3 weeks now. Still adore the watch. I can't imagine buying another watch, Rolex or otherwise, at this point. And my old Breitling Aerospace hasn't touched my wrist once.
I think my GMT IIc and I are going to have a monogamous relationship for a very long time... a few decades at least :)

I have the TT model GMTIIC and as far as the scratches on the center links go, I don't mind them. They seem to very easily clean up with my jewelry cloth and buff right back to a like-new surface shine. Being 18k gold I guess this is much easier to do on than on 904L Stainless Steel. So now, I think Rolex should make a SS and White Gold model so you can have the LOOK of all stainless steel, BUT the ease of scratch removal with GOLD. Hmmmmm and IMHO of course!

I'm now in a dilemma. I still love mine, and plan on getting another Rolex, but looks like I'll be working my way DOWN the range...
