Spending history

A local Rolex AD of mine also sells pre-owned rolex, would purchasing a pre-owned rolex count towards spending history? Was thinking about getting a 116520 for around 27k than asking myself to be put on the list for a BLRO.

Just get the watch you want grey. These AD games are arbitrary, no one know how much they get in or who it goes to.

Also we aren’t the AD, so just go head and ask them.

Yes it counts, and reinforces you are a collector. What’s the condition of the Daytona?

It's good, and they recently did a service by rolex on the watch. Although they are asking 29k which I find a bit on the higher side I can find similar examples for 3-5k less.

Well according to many on forum you must spend at least a $zillion$ before they will even consider you on buying any Rolex. I sometime wonder how ADs survive, so I wonder is it these high spending customers buying and selling to the grey market. Or is it because Rolex watches have now become little more than £$€ object things now sold to the highest bidder.

I picked up a pre owned datejust several months ago from a different branch of my AD and next time I passed the AD which 2 hrs away from where I live and i'm currently on a wait list with them, I just called in and asked for the purchase to be added to my spend history which they did immediately.

If you do it they will call you soon afterward about a pre-owned BLRO for around 24k. Or, you could save the 27k and just buy the BLRO from almost any trusted seller for 24k.

I would think so. I would ask them but would not buy just to try and get a BLRO. You could get a BLRO for less than the price of that Daytona.
If you really want the Daytona though, go for it!!

Games played where you have neither access to the rules or on a level field. Find the watch or watches you want and see where you can get the best example at the most competitive price. I stick with our Trusted Sellers and have gotten the watches I want when I wanted, could afford them, and enjoy the relationships I have with them. No B.S., they are just businessmen who are into buying/selling/trading. I have a great relationship with my AD but have not asked for a Rolex since 2015-2016. Too many issues and I do like to flip and own many different models and then move on. It does not work for most AD's as they do not like people to move their own property on, so I do not play the game. If you want the BLRO then go get one and bypass the games with the AD and the waiting list. If you want that Daytona then get it and enjoy but don't be surprised if you never get a BLRO until they get you for some other items. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Is BLRO the only watch you want? I see many Grey dealers with new full set with warranty cards for 19k to 21k.

This is insanity to even entertain the “idea” you need to flex money up front on items you don’t want to be considered for a watch you do want. Why would you want anyone in retail sales have that much power over you for a watch?

I would ask them. Also, many of the used pieces are on consignment or have thin margins. So, the bang for the buck may not be nearly as helpful to an AD as say those earrings or necklaces.

Have you considered the possible connection between high spenders and money laundering? (You may search/ google it!)
Can you explain in your wisdom - which I look up to- why a business claiming being keen for true “customers” erase owner’s name from the warranty document?

That is a risky way to go about trying to get a new watch at MSRP. Numerous dealers have lost the AD status and then what? Whole bunch of money spent on nothing with hopes and dreams…Many AD do not require buying other things just to be able to get a Rolex at MSRP. Seek those AD out. Best to you.

I don’t get it how you can even think in this way.
Spending 4K over market price on a watch, just to get on a list and wait who knows how long for another.

Way too complicated for my taste in trying to save a buck.

That doesnt matter. Go to one of our trusted sellers and buy the ss Daytona and it will still be cheaper, faster and not playing games in the end. These are luxury watches and purchased in that context.
How elegant if a restaurant made you work in the kitchen for hours before hand just to get a chance to get a table and "if" you got a table you could only order the "early bird special"?

Just buy whichever watch you want. I’d never buy one watch in the hope that it may lead to another

I would check on Moda for an 116520, I've seen some in the $23-$24k range.

That's a good point. However, my response would be: "Thanks for thinking of me, however I'm only interested in pre-owned for out-of-production models. However, looking forward to the 'full experience' when you get a BLRO with my name on it delivered!"

Give it six months and unless you’re looking for a SS Daytona the ADs won’t be relaying the purchase history narrative. Instead returning to begging for business for these high ticket items.

Feb 2023 can you wait?

Sorry I didn't clarify guys, the Daytona is going to be my first rolex in which I plan to keep forever. I plan to buy the 116520 regardless, I just figured it'd be killing two birds with one stone. Get the 116520 and get put on the list for the BLRO.

Risky if they go bankrupt. At least you keep the $2z in master bedroom bathroom jewelry bowl trinkets.
