Was able to get our first Rolexes from the AD

Long time lurker, was lucky enough to be able to get these 2 at retail from the AD

Glad to see the hype dying down so that shoppers like me who are not trying to flip are able to acquire generational pieces for the family.

I wish I could share a high def image but I think Rolex takes better pics than I do.

Heres to more in the future.

Those are fantastic! Congratulations!

My experience was similar. Spent time on a list for a SeaDweller and months later got the call for the AD offering me a DSSD JC. I got lucky getting my wife’s TT DJ weeks later all because I asked about one for our upcoming anniversary. We wanted a smaller reference, but a 36 came up and we’re glad we took it.

Enjoy yours in good health!

Congrats and welcome to the club!

Question is:

Would you have be able to buy the Sub if you hadn't also bought the DateJust???

No of course not, however the OP doesn't state how long they were waiting for the watches...

This was our first purchase at this AD (Shreve, Palo Alto)
The SA had our wishlist for over a year

We were both looking for a pair of his and hers matching DJs for a while, I got bored of waiting and just got my wife's desired DJ first,
so at-least she could enjoy a solid time-piece. My wife's purchase was more important to me than my own, it's rare as it is that she asks for a timepiece.

Within a week after buying my wife's watch, being part of the wishlist, I just couldn't say no when a chance to acquire a sub was presented to me, I bought it on the spot, I genuinely got lucky with my SA and the timing.
Still waiting for the Blue 41mm DJ though not that I want to complain, I am simply grateful for even being able to afford these.

On a side note: some of my colleagues are able to acquire their subs and DJs around the bay area, so it's getting better.

I love that you said generational pieces. Giving these items to kids after they see you wearing them for years really means a lot. It’s very underrated

Well done! A big congrats to you and your wife! A couple of great pieces. Love the blue dial DJ with Romans and the Sub date is just a beautiful classic. I hope you are able to get your blue DJ41 in the future.
