Hello there!!!

Im having sleepless nights thinking and researching regarding this car!!! I have never considered it on my wish list something similar to my GMT2 never wanted it until i saw it in real... The same with this baby ever since it has wizzed by me im haunted now my only question is this car worth the money its commanding??? $49k ??? I have not even test driven it yet but theres something thats attracting me towards it! Please share your knowledge and experience regarding the new EVO!

The FQ400.

The fastest and most powerful production version of the Lancer Evolution X to date, the FQ-400, has been officially introduced by Mitsubishi's British arm. Set to on sale in the UK in June, the new FQ-400 comes with a retuned 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 403bhp at 6,500 rpm and 525Nm or 387lb/ft of torque at 3,500 rpm sending the sports sedan from standstill to 62mph (100km/h) in a mere 3.8 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155mph or 250km/h.

Furthermore, the FQ-400 is equipped with a revised braking system that uses aerospace grade aluminum alloys and floating sealed discs grabbed by high performance pads.

The mechanical upgrades are accompanied by a more aggressive styling kit that comprises of a heavily vented bonnet, a new lightweight composite front bumper featuring carbon-fibre elements on its leading edges, a rear wing incorporating a gurney strip and a roof-mounted 'Vortex Generator', composite side skirts, a re-styled rear bumper with a carbon fibre diffuser plus additional lighting and High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights.

The Lancer Evolution FQ-400's price has been set in the UK at £49,999 ($79,400 US or €57,100) with the sport sedan's standard equipment including Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, a CD-tuner with 30 Gig hard drive, DVD satellite navigation and privacy glass plus remote central locking, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers. We're pretty sure that those interested in the FQ-400 wouldn't have mind at all if Mitsubishi removed most of these convenient features thus lowering the car's price and most importantly, shaving a few pounds off the FQ-400's

$49K for a mitsubishi is quite high in my opinion. i just bought the new Acura TL SH-AWD with High Performance Tires. the car is at 305 horses but the interior is unbelievable. in the end you're the one who is driving the vehicle. i have people telling me to get a BMW instead of an Acura.....but i am pleased with my decision. are you looking forward to drift/race in the mitsubishi?

It's actually more like $75 or better. Closer to 100k actually, by the time you worry about import taxes, fees etc.

However, while I do agree that the price is very high, that is one of the most advanced cars on the planet and the quickest four door saloon to 60 that money can buy.
3.8 seconds in factory trim? Not many other cars in that price range that can come close to that.

wow. $75-$100K. i never thought they could get that expensive. i can tell you i will definitely get a speeding going down I-35 with that ride =)

Tollway Southbound just after 635 is MUCH better.

Not really im no speed maniac but for a change i want something badass and raw!!! my priority is 4 seats!!! my business partner has a porsche cayman s and i really like it however i always find it annoying when we are with a bunch of ppl... So im considering various options including american muscle but as of now im bitten by the EVO bug!!!

ah yes the bug. it will get to you at night....and eventually you're suffering. temptation will lead to action....let me know when you do buy it =)

My brother in law had the previous Evo and drove it until 89K miles...he finally unloaded it..though he missed the turbo boost of the faster ride...problems started from 30K miles on...minor to major mechanical issues...
he is driving an Infinity G37S now...
for $75K USD..M3 looks like a bargain with the 4 year free maintenance..

Really fast, all wheel drive and plenty space to bring some mates.... according to an English newspaper that is ... no experience here ....

Every Mitsubishi owner I have ever known has complained about the poor mechanical reliability and the ridiculous cost of having their cars serviced.

No first hand experience but the stories I've heard are consistently negative.
