I would have thought next to no chance if I’m being honest I’d just enjoy your time here and maybe check out the pre owned market

Australia is one of the worst places for availability from what I gather (along with the UK/Europe).

I was told to express my interest in my local AD when they heard my American accent.

I asked to be put on the waiting list for a BLRO at the AD (Aust) which I have close to 6 figures spending history, was told that there are customers with double my spend who they’re struggling to allocate a BLRO to

Just so you know, in Sydney there are five Rolex ADs (and I think these same chains are in Brisbane/Gold Coast as well):
The Hour Glass* Kennedy* Watches of Switzerland* Swiss Concept J Farren Price * I am a Sydney local, and I have a five figure purchase history with three of these ADs, and only one of them has offered me a 2022 Air King (which I've subsequently purchased). I've asked all three of these ADs for a No Date Sub, Pepsi, Panda, Green OP41, Silver OP41. What chance do you think I've got of getting any of these pieces? My suggestion - if you are in Sydney go to following bricks and mortar grey dealers: Vintage Watch Co - Strand Arcade Time Keeper Boutique - Strand Arcade Luxuria Watches - Queen Victoria Building In addition to these guys, there are so many private grey market dealers active on Chrono24 and on Facebook groups. I've dealt with some of these guys, and surprisingly they are pretty reasonable and willing to negotiate (I recently got a hot Rolex for a very reasonable deal - and I was treated like royalty unlike the ADs). Australia is the worst for Rolex supply through the 'offical' means. It had been in steady decline since about 2016. The pandemic accelerated the decline. If you believe the current speculation on Rolex production, it's only going to get worse. In fact, The Hour Glass in the last few months even opened up a Tudor specific boutique - do you think they have any of the popular models (Black Bay, GMT, Pelegos) in stock? The chance of any regular local resident just wanting to buy one Rolex or a few select models for their collection over a few years from an AD (i.e. you are not a "prefered client" a.k.a. a 'flipper buddy' of the AD owner/manager who is giving you a kick back in a brown paper bag in the back alley) is way less than ZERO. |

“Tell him he’s dreaming”
No chance pal, you’d be lucky to pick up a desirable Tudor. I don’t know where you are from, but it doesn’t matter, your chances are better there than in Australia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Gold Coast AD (and their Brisbane store) are staffed by the most arrogant people I've ever met. At least at The Hour Glass they are friendly when they tell you they won't sell you anything lol.

The standard response to a rolex enquiry at an Australian dealer is laughter, followed by outright hostility, then finally being asked to promptly leave the premises after the complimentary glass of champaign has been tipped over your head.

I was having lunch at Barangaroo the other day, ducked in to WOS before the lunch.. it was f’n brutal =)
“Oh sir you have a daytona where did you get that?” Me: “some other ad (I didn’t actually say who)” “Oh you should go back there for any other watch you want”…. Me: “cool, now please let me try on all these other watches” I proceeded to try on 10 watches to the irritation of the SA… |

I have stood outside the Barangaroo store several times now. There must be like 10 staff in there all the time standing around doing nothing. Disdain because you asked to try on 10 watches? LOL !! Do some work I say !!! |

I'm going to be in Sydney next month and I was hoping to stop into a few stores to try on some watches. I emailed WoS to ask if they had Rolex display models in either of their Sydney stores, particularly an Explorer. Barangaroo, I was told, but we don't have any Rolex for sale!
Give the staff attitude mentioned above, I'm not sure I'll bother visiting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

rolex purchase chances in australia?
ADs get a gazillion people asking them the same questions.
1. Can I buy “insert steel model here” 2. How long is the wait 3. Is there a waitlist 4. What can I do to get on the waitlist. 5. You can’t buy one anyway. Unfortunately it’s quite difficult to determine who is genuine and wants just one Rolex for good reason, who wants to flip and who loves watches. Whenever I am in store, I hear the above questions. It’s very much a “if you know you know” But as you have to pick up a watch in person when it’s available; and allocation is by the manager or by head office it is unlikely you will get lucky. Unless you’re Roger Federer or VVIP. As far as I know many ADs sell only on an allocation basis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

100% the hardest to get allocations for Rolex/PP/AP. I travel extensively and saying this from firsthand experience, not secondhand or opinions of others (although others opinions backs up my statement). |
