Trade option

Hi guys

Apologies for the confusion to my previous post.

I should have said, I've got the option of trading my datejust 41 smooth bezel, green roman numerals on the jubilee bracelet dated 2021, for the GMT 126710blnr on jubilee dated 2022 plus £7k on top.

What's are your views on the trade. Your feedback is much appreciated.

So you have a 126710 BLNR on oyster and you want the same watch on jubilee ?

Yes that's right, I enquired about the jubilee bracelet and they wanted over 2k for it. I don't really wear the DJ and bought it just to play the AD games.

So instead of parting with £2k, you’re contemplating parting with a watch and £7k for a watch you already have with a different bracelet?

I've got a friend who's interested in the oyster version and they've paid a deposit hence why the trade and the jubilee has grown on me over the years.

I would just find it much easier to buy a jubilee bracelet from an AD and have the choice of bracelets. And Sell your DJ, if you don’t wear it.

Money in the bank and a watch with two different looks.

I think it’s a fair trade and consistent with grey market prices. Of course I would try to negotiate the cash down a bit if possible.

Yes, that's right doesn't make sense having two similar watches

Why not just offer AD straight up trade off your BLNR (that they can sell for at least 1.5x MSRP) and a new one with the other bracelet that must be sold at MSRP?

I really don’t understand you.

You are trading a DJ to get another BLNR on Jubilee, but you already have a BLNR on oyster, so you will have two watches on different bracelets. So two similar watches.

As said previously, sell the DJ and buy a jubilee bracelet for the BLNR, you would then have a BLNR with both bracelet options and £5-6k in the bank.

Or keep the DJ and buy a jubilee bracelet for £2k, you then have two different watches and one has the choice of Jubilee and oyster bracelet.
