JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar
I've recently been considering the new JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar (I somehow missed this release from W&W back in the Spring). This watch is amazing and seems to check so many boxes (esp the water resistance, power reserve, fume blue dial, and slightly more muscular sporty looks in a wearable case size). I never paid much attention to the Polaris line but between this and the latest Polaris Automatic in Green, it seems JLC is doing some interesting things lately.
Here's a quick photo (apologies - not the greatest shot in the boutique). Wrist size is about 6.4 inches (just over 16 cm). I had the watch on my wrist for about 15 mins in the boutique last week and it felt incredible (even the weight was noticeable and the watch has great wrist presence). I've got about a dozen timepieces - mostly sports watches (lots of SS Rolex) and a Lange 1815 Up/Down. The latter has not gotten much wear as it's a lighter and dressier piece - hence my interest in a PC in a sportier case that I hopefully feel more comfortable wearing regularly. My question is this - given it's a relatively new watch and also a strong release - what discount if any can I expect from an AD? Does anyone have any recent experience in buying more expensive pieces in precious metal from JLC like this? I'm in Canada and the watch is listed new for CAD $63.5k (JLC raised prices today, which feels a little tone deaf when you consider the macro). Cheers and Happy New Year! If the AD has it in stock you MAY be able to get 10%. Otherwise if it has to be ordered or you go boutique no discount. This year I was able to purchase a Polaris Mainer Date at a reasonable discount from an AD, but the piece you want is rarer.

Appreciate the feedback and I bet you're probably right. I'm going to wait a little while to see how things play out in terms of the macro, grey market prices, and just general interest in the watch. I have to believe a CAD $60k JLC will be easier to purchase in 6-12 months from now but I could be wrong. Worst case, I pay near full retail at an AD that also sells Patek and use that as a wedge to get their attention (which I need to do anyway, at some point).

You can get it a fair bit cheaper grey.
I ended up getting it from the botique myself as I quite liked it. Amazing release indeed.

Gorgeous in SS. Looks like we have the same taste in cars as well (although mine's a manual 👍). Cheers. |

I really want this piece too, but having bought 3 JLC's new I swore I would not do so again. I adore them but they all depreciate hugely. I know, I know, who cares.... but I just prefer to try and avoid the depreciation if I can.
I am tracking this watch on the pre-owned market, and the best price I have seen so far is £25,100 here in the UK : a significant saving on the MRSP already. I suspect I will be able to get this for under £20,000 at some point in 2022...

Quick update. I managed to also try on the JLC Polaris Perpetual in stainless steel today on bracelet. Very impressive watch and I even liked the bracelet. Still prefer the warmth of the Rose Gold but the SS is also incredible. This is going to come down to budget and what else I have in my collection when I finally pull the trigger.
