Daytona 116509 Blue Dial

Gorgeous white gold, a beautiful blue dial, and just a whisper of red. A stunning combination, resulting in what I believe is the perfect package.

For me, this is still a dream…but eventually, the final destination. The ultimate reward for a job well-done. And a grand exclamation point on a collection, years in the making.

For everyone else who has crossed their own finish line and received this prize, let me know your thoughts! When and where do you wear it…and does it still hold a vaunted place in your own collection?

Daytona 116509 Blue Dial

Awesome! Congrats to you, both!! What a fantastic way to kick off the new year! Did you guys get it through an AD or pre-owned? Personally, I really don’t see any real possibility of getting it new at an AD…and I don’t want to wait 2-3 years on the “hope & wish” list.

I’m looking to pick one up late this year…just watching the pre-owned prices come down!

I was able to acquire one via an AD. The key to building my collection has been sourcing AD's outside of Canada, The US & Europe. There are way too many ppl interested in the hobby.

That’s great…so where does that leave, Asia? I agree there are too many people…I was hoping that a heavy-hitter like this might be a little easier to source, versus the super popular models, like a Sub or a Pepsi or even a regular ceramic Daytona.

This is a great reference. And you don't see them everywhere like the steel ceramics

You see the steel ceramic Daytonas everywhere?! Toronto must be one highly favored place.

Very nice watch, congratulations. I’ve been on the list for over 2 years. The AD doesn’t get them in. Checked with him a few weeks ago. Took 2 years to get a WG Sub in for my husband. Maybe soon.

I tried this watch on last week. It seriously had me thinking of trading my entire collection.

best blue dial in the Rolex lineup

would it look better with a ceramic bezel or no?

I don’t think it would look better, but it would be more practical.

While it is a beautiful blue dial, it’s not *my* favorite in the catalog.

To all of you who own one - how often do you wear it?

1. Daily driver
2. Regular rotation, just not every day
3. Special occasions only
4. Total safe queen

I love this Daytona. Probably my favorite WG watch in the curent lineup that doesn't have a meteorite dial.

Its a good egg

Had it maybe 4 or 5 years now.

Considering the fuss made about blue dials, I'm surprised this one doesn't get more appreciation, but I know that is totally subjective and a dial doesn't make a watch.

I wear it in fairly regular rotation with other stuff. It flies well under the radar so I can enjoy it much more than its YG or RG counterpart.
In that respect, if you are going to pay out for a watch like this, the natural tendency for a lot of people is to lean towards something that shows its value e.g. YG, but that is why I like WG and this. I can wear it in more places, more often it seems.

Great watch, not much if anything to dislike. And has a dial with multiple personalities, which I love in all watches.
