Royal Oak 15450/15550 Pricing Trends?
Hi all, my grail watch for some time has been the RO 15450 (updated version 15550) white dial. Unfortunately, once I got myself into a financial position to purchase it, prices/waits went absolutely insane. Additionally, it now appears that the white dial variant has been retired, so my time getting to know my boutique SA has apparently been for naught.
I was offered an unworn 15450 white dial today for $33,000, and I'm curious what people think about that price. We all know grey prices have been moving down, but do you expect a significant further decline? Wondering if I should pull the trigger, or wait another 6-12 months. I know pre-pandemic these could be had for significantly less, but not sure if the market will ever go back to those levels. All thoughts appreciated! |

Normally I'd say simply wait, as GM prices are definitely deflating, but if it really is this one you're after then supply isn't going to budge, and it's hard to say when you'll get another chance at this
It's a very nice model |

That's still high. You'll lose at least $6,000 if you try and sell it after. I'm seeing them for $27,000-$30,000

I own one of those. I highly doubt i would be able to sell it for 33k to any dealer in this market

Price seems a bit rich for a white dial. Probably mid-20s would be more palatable imo.

I am in exactly the same boat too I have been monitoring the 15450 prices for years and I also think the prices will go down even further. Like others said, they can be had for around 26k now, so that’s almost at 15550 retail prices. In Japan especially prices are the lowest around. So the price you mentioned for the white dial is too high. I even saw a ruthenium for cheaper a couple of weeks ago.
I have always wanted the 15450, but due to my lifestyle and travel I would not wear it much. That has all changed so now I’m ready, just as they are so difficult to get through AP and grey prices went to the moon. I am still hoping to get one from AP, which is obviously the best route to go. |

I'd think if you could be bothered to build a relationship with an AP boutique/house, 15550 white dial should be reasonable to obtain as a first piece.
