Grailzee

Hi fellow members, wanted to check with yall if anyone has experience or heard anything about grailzee.com
They have decent amount of watches and acceptable prices auction style like ebay, but only thing I don't like the way they run the show.
Seller supposedly sends his watch to authentication through them and you send the seller a wire if you win the auction and then they send it to you. So wanted to hear some feed if anyone has used them before..

Thanks

As with catawiki, there are always a number of concerns. Quality of authentication, who backs up the guarantee and what conditions are attached.

They have an Omega Snoopy. It has a bid of $6800 with 3 days to go. Interesting to see what they goes for. It's trading at multiples on the reseller market.

It incentivises sellers with low fees - $99 listing and so on and charges buyers 5% up to $5k.

If you win the auction, you pay the seller directly and you pay by wire with no protection from PayPal or credit card company.

Buyer beware.

That’s exactly my thought, who guarantees that once you wire you will get the watch, how do I trust the authenticity center and how would I trust the seller to say he got the money.. Something is off when you don’t accept anything but wires..

A friend of mine just won an auction on Grailzee.... he told me he got a full report from the authentication center (Bennissons) -- it matched what was represented on the site so he then wired the Seller. Bennissons holds the watch so they essentially act as escrow so he felt secure sending the wire. He liked the process.

Just finished up a deal through Grailzee. I’ve dealt with the best Trusted Dealers on TRF and this experience through Grailzee has been just as easy and rewarding!!

A little slower than having something overnighted but super secure and the platform is flawless. Highly recommended !!!

Negative experience! Bought a SD43 and received the watch with a cracked pearl. I went back and read through the description of the watch and there is no mention of a cracked pearl which is not a cheap repair. I contacted them for resolution and they stated the general condition of the watch was listed which was enough.

I advised them that the description was very deceptive and they stated they could not do anything about it.

Needless to say, I am no longer visiting their site and encouraging others to stay away as well.

Buyer beware on Grailzee! You have ZERO recourse! I got scammed on a $32k Rolex watch. Advertised as very good condition? Chipped crystal, large ding in the bezel and polished to death to hide scratches. Buyer be warned!!!

Grailzee IS A JOKE

This is the authentication report I got for a Patek
No mention of authentication

This is the extent of the "Authentication & Condition Report" they promise on the website.

No folks, I'm not kidding this is it

It's a garbage website. I talked to the founder directly as I was bidding on a watch and the auction LITERALLY disappeared.

No real escrow, no real quality control and too much "after bidding ends bids" if you watch the auctions closely... Most of them are artificially low and then the seller has the option to reject the final price only to negotiate after the official bidding ends.

Bad business and a bootstrap operation to boot. Would rather do C24 and their fees than this 1-man show of a business
