Which bracelet for a 16710 from 1991
Hi all,
I have a Rolex 16710 with wrong bracelet (78790) If I don't say bullshit, this reference is for GMT and Explo II since 1997 So incorrect for my watch (1991) I would like to change it by the good one, and I think it's 78360. I just you someone of you confirm this information before buying a 78360 one. Thanks a lot |

.
Or a 93150.. Or a 62510h Jub.. Not a big a deal, unless you are just about the period correctness. 78790 is just fine. |

78790a is just a circa early 2000s service bracelet with solid end links and flip lock - no biggie as ttg says.
Leave it as is or get an earlier 62510 or 78360 (about 80% in UK came that way early 90s) or 93150 (occasionally fitted in USA granted, but I've never seen one originally fitted on UK box and papers watch btw). Ps you'd get about the same amount for the service item if you sold it as you would for a 91 ish clasp code 78360 btw - so not a big switch cost. The 78790a is about 10% heavier than a 78360 btw too.

Hi all,
Thanks for your answer. 93150 is for sub, and I don’t like big clasp. 62510H I already have one. My 78790 is not a A one, so I don’t have SEL And the year of mine is 97, but my watch is from 1991 it’s why I think 78360 is the best one |

501B end links , 91350 or 78360 and toss on a 78790 Oyster lock . Or just go with the better 78790A SEL . Remember back then you could get it anyway you wanted it !

My A serial # 16700 has 78790 with 501B end links.
I suspect that would be appropriate for 16710.

The Sub bracelet, which you are referring to model 93150, was available on the GMTs since 1980. The GMT II 16710 was available with, and is correct for This watch as well as a couple other bracelets.

In your place, I would focus more on my personal preference and comfort than on what is supposedly "correct." If you don't like the flip-lock clasp, put in on a bracelet you like better, such as a 78360.

The 78790 is a proper replacement bracelet for the 16710 and many watches have one. The clasp is an upgrade from the earlier 78360. If you are looking to make your watch "period correct" for whatever reason, go for it. However, it will not make your watch "original", and absolutely nobody but you will care.

My AD said pretty much the same thing in that "back in the day", he was more or less able to configure watch and bracelet combinations (within reason) from new according to customer choice, e.g. Sub bracelets onto GMTs and vice versa. He turned up a GMT 16700 for me with GMT bracelet but with a Sub clasp/dive extension, presumably as a retro fit from stock when parts etc were not the nightmare of today.
