Charles Frodsham
Hi forum members -I wanted to get some of your thoughts on the Charles Frodsham pieces. I was looking to place an order for one and would love to hear some feedback from my fellow members.

I love mine and wear it all the time. It's fantastic.
Richard Stenning is a real gentleman and great to work with. Highly recommended! Some poor pictures that don't convey how nice the watch is in real life: See also: https://watchesbysjx.com/2018/09/han...ristwatch.html |

I love Charles Fordsham watches too but was unable to find any link on their website in how to place an order? Any idea how to place an order on one of their pieces? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am not big on either Frodsham or Roger Smith. There are examples of both floating around with pretty lazy work...

They are lovely - not a link to order. Very traditional company. Try Tel: +44 (0)20 7839 1234 tomorrow. You are looking North of £200K methinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

But, please don't make up things about the price! Your figure is something like twice the current cost. Future price will reflect raises in cost of labor, etc. That's fair. |

2 years ago I saw this about the first public offer of their watch: “The watch is listed for sale at $206,000 (£150,000 GBP) which is just over double the $100,000 USD (£73,000 GBP) Frodsham was asking for new white gold examples.” https://hypebeast.com/2021/1/phillip...e-owned-market If you can wait before throwing rocks, what is being quoted now? That is certainly fair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

We don't know the exact total price if one puts down an order for a new piece, but claiming that it will be over 200k £ isn't something a person can say. No rocks thrown, though! Remember, the person was asking about placing an order for a new watch, not attempting to buy one at auction (they are very rarely at auction, one just came up last week) |

I saw an article that stated around 100 GBP but that was 2021. I’ll hazard 10-15% more if they are in line with other brands.

These are 2022 prices when I made my order. Steel £68,500, 18k rose or white gold £73,000, and 22k yellow gold £74,500, with the choice of dial; Arabic, Roman or Cypher Arabic/Roman. There are no waitlists which I appreciate that philosophy from the brand but there is a production list. To get on it you have to place a 10K deposit to an escrow - always refundable. Hope that clarifies.
Richard Stenning is terrific, a proper English gentleman and so kind. Note below a recent May 2023 auction on the steel. It did really well. |

Those are great pictures!
I put in for a second one. Now just have to survive an unexpected surprise serious cancer diagnosis to be around to pick it up in a bunch of years! I am going to wear that watch! |

Came across this 1901 pocket watch by Charles Frodsham while browsing an upcoming Phillips auction. Crazy complications and love that detent escapement. The finishing is very impressive

I’ve had one on the wrist. Nothing like it this side of a Roger Smith. Don’t let the size fool you - with the ultra short lugs it’s an easy wear.
Absolutely amazing. |

Beautiful watches, I have handled a couple in person.
I just can't stand watches on straps.... I don't know why but I just never find them comfortable.
